The message below is the general message I post to recruit people. As you can see from it, we are willing to train anybody. Our group is a pretty relaxed group that isn't super strict on quality. As long as it looks nice and stuff can be read, we are okay with it. The only projects that we are stricter with are joint projects. We don't have any of those right now though. These are all just for our group. If you would like to learn the scanlation process, continue reading our general recruit ad below. We would love to have you.

Hi Everybody,

I am Airi, the founder of Mizuki Scans. We are in need of help here. The following positions are available.

Translator - We need Japanese, Chinese, and Korean translators. You need to be fluent in English and the the language you are translating from.

Proofreaders - This is one position that does not require special software.

Editors (Cleans and Typesets) - I prefer people with some experience but, I will train anybody that wants to help out. You must have Photoshop.

Cleaners - I prefer people with some experience but, I will train anybody that want to help out. You must have Photoshop.

Typesetters - I prefer people with some experience but, I will train anybody that want to help out. You must have Photoshop.

QC - You must have experience in all aspects of scanlating to apply. You must also have Photoshop.

For the people that don't have Photoshop, you can still edit for me using a program known as Gimp. From what I have heard it is similar to Photoshop but is free to download. You can also use Paint Shop Pro. I am not sure if there are others out there that will work. Any program that you use must be able to save in .psd format. The only program that I am able to train on is Photoshop.

As an added bonus to translators and editors, if you help our group out, we will pick up a project that you would like to see done. It must fall under our guidelines of no Adult, Mature, Smut, Yaoi, Yuri, Shotacon, Lolicon, Shounen-ai, or Shoujo-ai. It must also be unlicensed. We will do either shounen or shoujo. I also have a bunch of raw sites you can look through if you need help deciding on something.

Now for the really good stuff.

The current projects that are lined up for this group are:

  • There Will Be an Angel to Love You Instead of Me
  • Crab Kiss
  • Princess Finds
  • When the Fox Becomes the Wolf
  • Imitation Love
  • Idol Paradise
  • Umi no Kishidan

I checked all of the projects on mangaupdates to make sure that they have not had a release for at least 200 days. I realize that some of these projects may be on peoples future to do lists. I am not a supporter of those kinds of lists because a project could be on them for a year before somebody gets around to working on it. I see the lists as more of a we would like to do these if nobody else has started them kind of thing. The purpose of scanlating is to get the stuff out there for people to enjoy. If any scan group is interested in working with me on one of the above projects as a joint, let me know.

There is also a really cool feature to for the member of our forum. I have set it up so that anybody wanting to see something done can list it in our ideas section. Each project will be given a number by when it was posted. As our group starts looking for more projects, we will use this list and work from the first number on. We will only do one recommended project per person at a time though and any recommendations must follow our group rules. Pretty cool idea huh?

Now, if you want to help us out, you need to either email me at mizukiscans@gmail.com or sign up for our forum at http://s7.zetaboards.com/Mizuki_Scans/index/ where you can post in the Recruiting section or PM me. I will hold off on all tests for now until we get some more staff lined up.

Thanks in advance.

Airi

You already have a recruitment thread. As per the rules, keep it to one thread per group and bump it once a week.
