quotes lenght

I browsed this section and it doesn't look like the matter was mentioned before.
Quote. I know, it's a usefull tool and it makes our communication here easier, but why the hell some of the things members are quoting are like 50 times longer than their own posts?
Examples of what I'm talking about:
click
click
click
click <- ok, that one is a phenomenon, not good as an example 🤣
It takes way too much place...and it looks bad. Seriously, if someone reading a topic wants to follow the discussion, he doesn't need 7 or 8 previous posters quoted in the last post!
I see few solutions:
*a new rule
*code trick, allowing quoting only to some logical lenght
*asking the posters for a reasonable usage of quoting ( and everything stays as it was...)

Still the bad cop.

Personally, I agree they do annoy me, just as much as aim talk does... But I doubt a new rule is going to be heard much... and it will only add to my workload of screaming at people for not following the rules...

Would it be right if we just report the post and let the mod come and edit the post? >_> Or is that abusing the authority of the reporting posts? Quoting big posts and answer them like in one and two words consider as spam [i believe], quoting big posts and type bigger paragraphs just waste space...[like having wide or large signature] :/

As for what chue said, mods shouldn't have to deal with something like that - kind of a waste of their time - and should fall to the poster themselves (not to mention there are tons that would be reported and need to be fixed). But, I agree with the quoting.. it can be annoying when there's like, a page worth of quotes.. I try and delete as much unnecessary things as possible - or I just give the user name and say what I want to say. As for someone quoting more than what they write, that's doesn't bother me but when quoting a lot and only dealing with one of the quotes - and the rest are not necessary - I think the rest could have been easily deleted. But honestly, trying to enforce a rule bout quoting, I don't think will really work.. I mean, they have a rule on spam and that still happens and not to mention a lot of people would find it a waste of time and not even bother doing it, so there'd be a lot of banning to set examples and the mods wanting to murder and hide bodies 😛 .... and not to mention, the fact that people are so used to how things are already done, they'd still be doing it - even though it's unintentional - due to force of habit. As for making the quote system have a max. amount of characters or something, I don't know much bout stuff like that so I don't even know if it's possible, but if it was, I think that'd be a really good idea. That way, people are forced to shorten the quotes because it won't allow them to submit their post.
Oh, and I'm adding something completey off topic, but having a delete button would be nice.. that way, when my internet is being bout retarded and somehow double posts, I can go ahead and delete one of the post myself.
If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.

Yeah, about that... 🤣 Someone already suggested it before, and apparantly the mods don't trust us enough...
P.S.: Instead of quoting the whole post, I just picked out the one part that I'm responding too... That's how you should quote... 🤣

but sometimes the conversation is like right there >< I don't want to get rid of it =( especially if it goes to the 2nd page, and then people wonder where that part of the quote came from..? Well, I wonder anyway...

If your conversation is one post, quote one post. If not, try the old fashion way.
@usernamehere, blah blah
why don't anybody use this? ><
