Manga vs Anime

Hello everyone!
I've just watched the whole anime and enjoyed it greatly.
I've heard that it differs from the manga version in some points and it has a different ending, so I'm interested to start reading the manga.
What I would like to know is:
-
What did you enjoy the most: anime or manga?
-
What is the most complete: anime or manga? (I felt that the anime could have joined Uehara and Yoshikawa, instead of just hinting that she would do that someday, but not in the last episode, and I didn't enjoy how Onizuka left Japan for USA. He could have also stayed with that teacher, whose name I can't remember now 😛 ) (On the other hand, I've heard that the anime goes a little further in the story than the manga, don't know if it's true.)
-
Does the live drama add anything to GTO's story, or is it just more of the same?
I'm waiting for your info 🙂

I've only read a couple volumes of the manga so I can't really say much about that but I really enjoyed the anime. I know the ending wasn't the best so im hoping for an ova.
Regarding the live action, there were some pretty big changes in comparison to the anime but it was still a good watch. It doesn't add anything to the story since it came out first so the anime was based from it. The special was good too.

It's been years since GTO's last episode. Can we still hope for an OVA? Any eumours?

I believe that the manga was still ongoing when both the anime and the live action (dorama) were made, and that the manga goes considerably farther.
I haven't seen the anime, but have read the manga & seen the dorama. As has been said, the dorama makes significant changes but it's still good; the ending/resolution is quite different but I found it satisfactory. (Actually I was quite relieved that some things were toned-down for the dorama, as I really did NOT want to see a real person doing some of the things Onizuka does in the manga! 🤣 ) Much as I enjoyed the dorama, the manga's better. 😀

I did like the dorama but was pretty disappointed that kanzaki was missing. She was my fave char in the anime and her two colored eyes was just cool.

That's nice to know that the manga goes further than the anime. But... The anime ended with Onizuka in USA. Was that an alternative ending, or part of the manga is about Onizuka in the USA? 😀

That part's not in the manga, or the dorama either. Looks like even if the anime was "based on" the dorama, they're pretty different from each other too.

I wish this were a poll, but regardless, I have to say the Manga is much better than the anime, which is not to say the anime is bad, the manga simple gives me a more fullfilling ending.

Everything about GTO is GREAT!

The manga is the most complete. The anime told the same story until about vol 14 and then it invented a sort of ending (USA stuff). It also add more romance to the story 😉
You really should read it. REALLY. There are new characters (not so outstanding, but...) and overall my favourite GTO moments are only in the manga. The "Miyabi vs Urumi" fight is memorable and it also have a great ending (Urumi is the best!!!) 😀 . You really should read it. Sorry if I repeated that again, but if you like GTO you really should read the manga. REALLY. 😛 -
The drama is different from both. It's more realistic and it's more focused on the Fuyutsuki-Onizuka relationship (and many couple who forms late in the manga are totally different if I remember right). Onizuka is not a ex-delinquent, more like a not conformist teacher, but not crazy as the Onizuka in the manga.
I suggest you to watch the dorama, and maybe keep the manga for the last (which is the best). I read it about a year after I watched the anime and i truly enjoyed it (but you can also read it now, it's impossible to get bored by GTO). 😉

I really like the part where Onizuka has to arm wrestle 100 opponent. And yes, there are more on YoshikawaxUehara in manga. YOU MUST READ THE MANGA!
