and here it is...another manga with the uber special no training power up method! I really dislike the idea of sudden power up like that and ofc a good manga had to do it 🙁 its like Bleach all over again

yeah, that was disappointing. but then again the entire manga have had most of it's fights winning by friendship power. 😔

well in all fairness its just as ridiculous to think that 30 days hard training would make up for 7 years of missing time. I mean if thats all it took then everybody else should be uber badass after 7 years of training right?
Plus its better this way for me when new abilities and showing of magic and powers comes in the fight themselves. It also give an excuse for Gerard and the others to make an appearance and thats always a good thing in my book.

I'm glad Gerard did not die in prison. He's on of the coolest characters in the series, partly because he designed after Sieg.
I don't mind the sudden power because at least they gave other attempts to do it normally even though a month is still ridicules. And its not like they are getting some amazing power up all they are doing is awakening hidden potential that means its power they've always had.
I hope Gerard has something semi-evil up his sleeve because he is better when he has ulterior motives.

Actually you are wrong, its not a power they had, its somewhat like the brain where we can only use 10% of its full potential (not sure on the number), the containers have the same theory, her time ark supposedly unlocked the rest of the container of their magical powa, but they are not supposed to have access to it normally, so its not a hidden potential but a whole new container thats inaccessible that keeps magical power. Think of it this way 1 whole container for a mage like natsu + another container meaning it should double magic power or something (dont know the exact amount so double seems reasonable). Meaning its not a power they have used since its not accessible by normal means, meaning cheat! The amount should be a lot at the very least, meaning amazing power up, think of Natsu spamming lightning fira something something 2-4 times dats just gay 😮

I just have to say lol... This is a Shounen manga so why are you so surprised? If they not increase the power by one method they increase my another one. There isnt one, two or tree in this type of manga. All depends of imagination of mangaka. That's all.
What matter is how is done and how will link to the rest. I think was nice though. I didnt want to see a lot of chapters with training...
Either way you talk all that but you still love it so... we keep reading and see what changed inside of them soon. And of course, they got a power up but who knows if is enough for those 7 years gap? Probably will be equal with the last boss and be a hard fight but the fun part is how they get there and how is done until the very end of the arc.

It is a power they had as it was with them before Urtear unlocks it, thus a hidden potential. The fact they have it means its not cheating. Is wolverine using his claws cheating? Most would think not. They are a apart of him and just because he has access to mutant powers does not mean its cheating. The same can be said about this second container. everyone has it so logically anyone under the right circumstances can open it. I doubt they are going to get over powered like you think. It will put them on equal or just less than equal footing. Its a Shounen after all. The bad guy is always more powerful than the hero at the beginning of the fight. Natsu and the rest won't be any stronger than who ever the main antagonists of this ark will be.

If you think about it there is good reason for Erza to be that suspicious of Jellal. He use to be her most trusted childhood friend and once he gave into darkness he went as far as sacrificing her life for a power that will allow him to take over the world. He even used his old bonds with Erza to try to manipulate her to take her down.
