The name of these 2 shounen/seinen

So first of all I'm pretty sure both of them are shounen/seinen manga.
The first manga is over and had an ending where the main character (and I think his dog as well) merged with a tree to save the world. Then there is a 2 page "10 years later" which shows what the surviving characters are doing.
The second one is a gender bender out of which I just remember a cover where there are 3 characters standing near a blackboard (2 guys and one small girl/guy). Very vaguely I think it was a about a guy or a girl who has to infiltrate a school for something ... I'm not sure but that's all I can remember about it.

I think this one is Dream Saga. But it's a Shoujo Manga. Err.. I'm not sure. Oh well.
