Kekkaishi -- one of the most underrated Manga ever

Imho the main problem with Kekkaishi is that the first volume is rather boring compared to the rest of the manga.

Theres no such thing as underrated or overrated and its the amount of people that watch/read stuff that they use as rating... It is good indeed but as tastes come and go not everybody likes tha same thing. Yet... u cant compare either FMA/NARUTO/KEKAISHI... the only thing they have in common is that they are shounen.

LOL must be a requirement in shonen manga, one of those unbreakable rules of having a not so easy on the eyes male protagonist.
I would really love to see something that breaks the mold a bit, I will be waiting for the day that I see a shonen manga with a female lead..
Doesn't Soul Eater have a female lead? And anyways, I've just started watching Kekkaishi on Adult Swim. (too lazy to sit at my computer)
It certainly is somewhat refreshing, and different from most shounen. I'll keep watching/reading to see what all the hype is about though. 😀

I followed it until chapter 225 but it got so boring it became a chore to read it; so I dropped it. Imo, it's not underrated.

like yoshi stop the dead from dying, and the training cat, or yoshimori's landlord (well think of it as yoshimori's version of his brother's koi, though it's not a koi.. and it speak too), or they went inside karasumori castle, or there's a dead kekkaishi's body inside karasumori castle, or karasumori's lord is taken out of the school ground, or yoshi is now training under tokimori himself, or yoshi has move to another city with karasumori's lord, or the story no longer focus on that school, or the urakai's political plot got even more thicker, or tokine is now training to kill god, or urakai's leader has left urakai...... in conclusion: all the chess pieces have move and gather but we still don't know what is the next move or how it'll end

i've just been up to vol 10, but I must admit among the super large pool of shonen manga, this one is only second to FMA. Bleach is trashy after the soul society arc. One Piece and Naruto have been dragging for too long and don't have any more fresh ideas. Those three don't deserve the top pos.
