This group is only about doing one series: the classic seinen-action manga from the 80's, Akai Kiba (a.ka. Red Fang; http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=29036). There's an OVA loosely based on the series named "Blue Sonnet", for those that have seen the OVA. No US company currently owns a license on the OVA, although MangaCorps released a VHS version in the early 90's. And the manga has never been licensed in the States.

Over a year ago, a guy going by the name Alhazard translated the first one and a half volumes and posted them online. I got in touch with him and he has granted me permission to use his translation to scanlate the manga.

However, I need a translator for after the first one and a half volumes. Also, if you'd like to get started earliar, that's fine aswell (Only the first story has been scanlated so far, so if you even want to start from the very begining that's cool). His translations are based off the translated Korean version, so his translations might be a bit off (as what often happens when translating a translation). You'll be translating the Japanese version though, not the korean version, so a Japanese translator is needed.

Unfortunately, his English translations are also a bit...nonsensical. It's still understandable, but really could use some peppering up. I'd do it myself but my English isn't all too good either, so I would be of no help in that regards.

That's where the proofreader/copy editor comes in. Basically you just take Alhazard's translations (you can find them here: http://alhazardtrans.blogspot.com/ ), fix it up a bit, and send the fixed up version to me. I had a prooofreader for the first story arc (He hasn't been able to do any work for the past couple months though, which is why I'm now looking for somebody else to take over the role), so you can download those scans and compare what he did to the translations on Alhazard's site. That's what I'd like to see done. Somebody majoring in English or the likes is perfered. Please keep in mind though that if/when a new translator comes in, your job might be severely reduced.

This will be a very laid back atmosphere. The manga itself doesn't actually really have any "chapters", just story arcs. About 15-20 pages will be released once a week perferably. If we can do it faster, we do it faster. If something comes up, it's not a big deal if it takes longer.

Hi! I'd like to give it a try! I'm not experienced in the very least but i can speak pretty fluent english. It also happens to be one of my best subjects. On the downside, i can't really understand Japanese? But my understanding skills are quite ok so I should be able to proofread.
