funny thing about that mechs was never in the original manga

There was no original manga- all of the manga adaptations are based on the anime.

Yeah, that manga is actually based on the anime. The anime is entirely an original project. If you want me to, I can actually link you to information that will prove my correctness.

I'm not angry at all- don't worry about something like that. Actually digging up the information is just a little bit of a pain that I had hoped to avoid, that's all.

Anyway, there's a variety of reasons. The easiest one to prove from a variety of sources is simply that the manga began serialization a full three months after the anime began airing (this is easier because finding a reliable source with the specific language is tricky). You can find that on animenewsnetwork's pages here and here if you look at the run dates (I can always provide more, it's available everywhere). Additionally, those two pages indicate that the manga is an adaptation of the anime if you look at the top of the entries (I'm not totally familiar with their system, so I didn't feel that was enough evidence on its own.)

If you want some information in addition to that, CLAMP did original character designs, but is responsible for none of the four separate manga adaptations. I can honestly list on and on, and if I have to dig up something that explicitly states that the manga was adapted from the anime- but I'd rather not. If you really want me to, just send me a PM or post here and I'll do it tomorrow (it's 1:30am here). Hope the information's helpful(?) in some way though.

EDIT: It seems you found it yourself -_-;;. No harm, no foul though. No need to apologize- I even offered after all.

Yes. For the present.

At least in the way that there are no other anime I look forward to watching as much.

There are some that I watched in the past that I could put on a favorite-s- list, but it would be impossible to single one out. These include such classics as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiyah... Kanon (2006)... Hunter X Hunter... Full Metal Panic... Black Lagoon... Beck... etc etc.

As much as I like code geass, its not my favorite.. I think genre matters a lot when it comes to choosing one, CG has a good plot (and plot twists) but some people are just not into mecha or war types 😛

My favorite of all times has to be Ouran High School Host Club 🙂

This is a good anime but not my favorite. Simply put I hate this anime more than I like it, even though I'm still watching it. Everything's good except the way the plot is developing, CLAMP has that tendancy of making something good to start but then drive it into a doom spiral of death within seconds...For me this series did the said doom spiral when

Euphy went into massacre mode...and also when Shirley was killed...seriously, it's like no girls with long hair other than C.C. can know lelouch's zero or something....

Still, good series but yeah, not much replay value for me...I just don't like CLAMP's story development methods, Tsubasa lost me with the double, and xXx is just slow....

*EDIT
My bad on the plot part, but it just seems like a lot of their artwork goes hand in hand with these annoying plot twists.

What does CLAMP have to do with anything? They only did the character designs, sunrise is responsible for the story. It has a lot more in common than random Gundam series than it does with Tsubasa or Holic in all but the aesthetic sense.

Yeah it's definitely my favorite. It far and away beats out anything else. It just has everything I like in a series: hot chicks, action, political debate, moral debate, humor, compelling characters, and a truly intense plot. The only thing I like to see in a series I watch that is mostly missing is yuri subtext/context (Nina doesn't count since realistically, it's about impossible not to hate her for one reason or another).

For me, it's the closest thing to a perfect series I've ever seen. I suppose I'll have to wait to see how it all ends though.

Well, this is an awesome series for me. It's great and epic, and one of my favourites, but it's not something that I'd put a crown on and say "Hey your the King!" or such...

It has awesome depth, great range of characters and the way they develop this is a way that I could probably would never understand. Only thing I hate though would be the whole development of the plot. It's nice that it's now moving to somewhere towards a tragic hero development (at least this is what I sense) but all this plot twists really has me hanging sometimes.

Though this is the only series I have ever watched that has makes me shake uncontrollably when I watch this series.

So, yes one of my favourites, but no not one of the greatest of all time
