Mediacoder is pretty good (and free) though I think it's pretty complicated if you don't really know about codecs and such very much... then again you can just google how to do it so this is my best suggestion for you~

GOM Encoder is okay too, it's not free, but it has a free trial which lasts awhile (but there will always be a watermark on the top right of the video though).

If you are on a windows machine, you can try Super. Just google Super and its the first link, its site is quite difficult to find the download link but just search for "Start Downloading SUPER", should be at the very bottom, and then it will load up another page, look for "download and use" and then go all the way down of this page and the link for the setup file should be right there.

Just download the ojosoft total video converter and convert all kind of shit into different kind of shit ....... download the trial version and thn just google the key gen ...... the key of an older version should work too 😉

I used the alternative method.
This is irrelevant if what you're converting is hardsubbed, but usually softsubs are used in which case regular conversion conventions probably won't work. Take note that both methods in that link are a hell of a hassle to set up.

Edit: Also, the thread that I linked too doesn't include a converter. It's just a method to keep subs while converting, you can try some of the other suggestions on this thread.
Also, if you do end up using the alternative method, feel free to ask for help, because it really does suck to set up.

Format Factory, the best converter ever.

After I got it I never had any more problems, the best thing is that it is a universal converter and is completely free, easy and light on the computer.
If you want to get only the audio of a video, you also can, anyways it is available on many sites, just google it 😉
