Here you can discuss all about the character Kurosaki Isshin.. 😀

Though there's so little we know about him.. 😔

What we do know is:

• He's at least a captain-level shinigami..
• Father of Ichigo, Karin and Yuzu..
• Husband to Masaki(deceased)..
• 20 years before the storyline, he 'ceased' to be a Shinigami..
• His Shinigami uniform looks like that of a captain..
• Isshin lost most of his powers, and only recently got them back..
• It's implied that he's even more powerful than now, and that he's still recovering..
• Killed Grand Fisher in one swing..
• Zanpaktou's details are unknown..

I would want that Isshin has more screentime.. I want to know more about him.. I also want to know how Ichigo will react when he founds out his dad is an uber-strong shinigami.. 😀 🤣

Yay Isshin! Never seen an isshin topi before. Should wish my dad was like him lol. When he 1st was introduced as a shinigami I had a big wtf. Not in a bad way. I just didn't see it comming.

The next thing I'm waiting for is Ichiogo's mother's apperance. We'll prob see her before the end. We've seen lots of dead people, why not her too? 😀 😎

Yeah, you're right.. I think Masaki was a little special too.. Or maybe she was just a human with a lot of love.. 🤣

Did he lose his powers? I understood it to be that he was suppressing them for 20 yrs so as not to be found/targeted.

Yes, but during those 20 years he lost his powers somehow, and now he got them back.. Read/watch the conversation between Isshin and Ryuken again for more clarification.. 🙂

i think we are gonna get some more kurosaki isshin
as soon as we get some more of urahara kisuke and ishida`s father too.
i would love to see the 3 of them fight together side by side i also assume
they were friends a long time ago and they were really badass 😎

Who wants to bet that Isshin lost his powers because an incident with Ishida's father? I'm thinking he probably was helping Ishida's dad with something "forbidden" and both of them got punished for it. This could explain both Isshin's loss of Shinigami powers and Ishida's father's aversion to both Shinigami and Quincies.

well...i'm seeing he lost his powers using urahara's gigai that takes away reiatsu...the one urahara developed that got him exiled from soul society...as for why...i don't know maybe he wanted to be human with Masaki or was also exiled for being involved in urahara's experiment...i'm also seeing the relationship between Isshin and Ryuuken was due to Masaki...maybe a love triangle perhaps 😀 ...and doesn't anyone find it weird that coincidentally they both run medical establishments...there must be a meaning!! 😛

Yes, good point Raven.. 😀 I also do wonder about the mother of Ishida.. What happened to her..? We have only seen her once, I think.. And that was in a very short fragment in the Bounto arc..

I think she died, and that's why Ryuken is so cold.. And she died because of a hollow, that's why he hates Shinigami.. And he hates Quincy because, one time a long ago, he was just like Uryuu and wanted to change the world and protect the innocents with his power.. But because his wife died, he blamed his Quincy powers since they weren't strong enough to save her.. And he loathed the path of the Quincy(wished he was never a Quincy), because maybe then.. she would've still been alive..

However, this is just some crazed-up theory from me.. 🤣

but the bount arc was just a filler...i wouldn't rely too much on it...

But aren't there some valid hints in there hidden.. And also in the fragment of Uryuu's mother, you can't see her face properly.. It has a shadow-like thing before it.. 🤣 So it could be open for speculation..

Also, in the Bounto arc, they say that Urahara is the same age as Kuukaku Shiba.. Isn't that story-related information..

This might just be me but didn't they say in the first few volumes that souls are destroyed if consumed by a hollow? If that's the case I don't think we'll be seeing Masaki, well ever.

@Spanky151: Nope, Hollows transform other souls in Hollows.. And if a Shinigami purifies the Hollow, the soul is released and goes to Soul Society..

But in Masaki's case, the Grand Fisher 'absorbed' her soul.. But her soul was released with many others when Isshin defeated him.. At least, that's what I think.. 🤣
