Ultimately not a surprise. A shame as "only" the ending of this arc and the next one remained but that is perfectionism for you. He switched to digital years ago to speed up his process but ended up manipulating pixels as he now could. That is the man Miura was and he worked like a man possed till age 40 or so before he ended up slowing down his schedule.
Miura´s effect on pop culture is immeasurable despite Berserk being his single major work. Simply finishing the pages he made so-called "Names" for (panel breakdowns) and releasing author notes is enough for me. Ending or not. The message of the work still comes through. I´ll remember the manga and Miura by my Brand of Sacrifice tattoo. Look up some of the interviewers he gave over the decades. He was more talkative than some think.
Dune didn´t end. Tezuka´s Phoenix didn´t. And now Berserk. RIP Miura. Your watch has ended.
