Writing Using BBCode

I would like to suggest changing the way BBCode is used when writing topic and posts. I think it would make things easier and more convenient if one could write what they're saying and then highlight, and make the BBCode wrap the text by clicking it.
I have seen this used in other forums and always wondered why it's isn't used here.
No offense, but I find it more than a little awkward and annoying have to go back and forth up the screen to change/link your words.

I know exactly what you are suggesting and I think it's a good idea. It would be nice just click once and it's done.

Can firefox do that these days? I think back in the day one of the major browsers couldn't do it ... which is why I didn't implement it.
