So, I've been seeing some Air Gear releases from a group called "MangaCult." So far, I've stayed loyal to Scum-Scans, but I'm also wondering about things...What's the quality level of MangaCult? Do they use tank raws or the mag raws? Is the translation good? English good? Editing good?

Ummm it's pretty good, not as good as Scum. But still worth a DL. I believe this Cult is aiming more towards Quantity over Quality, while Scum is the other way around.

When those releases first started they said they were going for quick releases and asked us, the leechers, to download Scum-Scans when they released their chapters.

I thought the group was just trying to get popular by releasing the chapters ahead of #Scum-Scans, so its good to hear they are supporting, 😀

MC is just a group of Air Gear fans that started to scanlate the manga because:

1. Scum-Scans is slow.
2. Scum-Scans has no intention of speeding up.
3. No one else (other than Scum-Scans) is willing to translate, like all the Japanese literate people went into hiding or something.

In the end they are just giving the other Air Gear fans something to read while waiting for the releases from Scum-Scans. At least that's what I heard. I think it is a little unappreciative if you think they're out to get popular or something. Popularity means nothing compared to the time they willingly spend on this. It's not like they are getting paid or are trying to rival Scum-Scans.

Well before you stomp on Scum-Scans for being "slow".. they have released nearly a chapter a week. Which is great for scanlations standards.

I agree with hostile. Popular series will always get multiple groups--someone will always be impatient. In the end, there's not much you can do about it. Just stay with the group that you like.

Well there are many ways... either you can go buy it, or you can try to find it online. The best way would be to check the groups page and see who translates it and go and ask there.

Hmmm... With all these guys asking where to download off in all the wrong places why dont you just start topic on the FAQs of downloading/obtaining info off the site (like group links, irc leeching links and the direct dl links you post)). Quite irritating to see people not making an effort to try not to find out themselves. And those jokes starting off 'pls help me topics'. Hey i'm not anti internet noobs. But everything has a limit. Just ask mellow. He's always free anyways.

I've been considering putting up some kinda faq section just for stuff like this.
