well, if you care so much about stealing manga and think it's bad, then you should know that you are stealing other people's mangas in the first place (the mangaka).
second, HEY! manga isn't owned by a scanlating group, anybody can pick any manga they want and scanlate it.
last, it's better to get multiple group doing a popular manga, that way it'll come out faster, and if they were smart enough they would work together, after all you all are people intrested in working in the same manga, so just make it a joint project.
that is my personal opinion.

Heh, well the reason this has turned into a fight is because kmts offered him a place in the sekirei staff and he turned it down.
I have to support kmts on this though, they are one of the scanlation groups i respect the most, although not as much as before due to their reaction to this quarrel.

lol, I "Steal" projects all the time. But seriously though aren't we the ones stealing from the company? Last time I checked, scanlating is not exactly legal.
So, life goes on, besides why do any of us care, we just want to read manga. We don't care if it's aqua man, super man, or monkey man that scans it.

suuuuure offered me a place in the staff...... amaru did but i have no intention of joining and FYI i got threatened alot and kicks from kuthrow rained on me. way to go ask someone to join their group! and now theyre holding back their releases coz some n00b released 2 chapters of seki, oh and they will only release to the donators btw. nice. this guys got sooo pissed or one of their fanboys and tried hacking me last night. geez how old are these guys? i thought they where more mature than that. well it was fun and i thoroughly enjoyed the satisfaction i got watching them freak out. so then all this guys that where referred to my own scanlation channel (KnA has nothing to do with sekirei) thanked me although i knew thats sarcasm but 90% of them wanted me to do UxU too and Kekk LOL GG. well heres the thing, i wont touch UxU, i have respects for pasaway. i wont touch kekk coz another group will start spamming releases of it soon. continuing from where a group last release is not that uncommon at all, look at air gear, naruto or gantz. its either u download what i did or not i dont care, im just sharing what i have on the internet. all of u can go bitch about me, back talk me, flame me w/e suits ur taste i dont give a damn. this is fun thats all.

Err... actually, y'know, I don't mind when people steal projects... more competition is better... but I'm questioning your intention now.
It looks like you were really only doing this to piss off others. Isn't this kinda douchey of you? If you said "I enjoyed providing my efforts to the manga community" instead of "i thoroughly enjoyed the satisfaction i got watching them freak out," then I would respect you much more.
Now, what they did was wrong... withholding the releases is childish. So both are somewhat at fault, but now I blame them less because I sympathize with them more.
Instead of attacking them and saying that they're immature, reflect upon your own actions, please. Thanks...

He he he ... I can understand wanting to have some fun...this world is boring... see how much fun this is..even if i'm not involved (don't care for sekirei) As for the reaction of KmTs anyone could see it was the wrong thing to do..they should have just ignored it like nothing had happened... as for fanboys...we'd all be better off if sekirei fanboys just dropped dead 😀 So kmts by being childish about it... I wouldn't be surprised if more of your projects are "stolen".. Then what? delay smmore? Meh... Stop being asses and trying to hack people i f you are serious and can hack go hack tazmo... then you'll be doing the community a service...

like u guys said, i also download modacchi release but if kmts came out with higher quality, they i'llreplace it with it. even bleach also the. if bs came out 1st, i'm sure to download it but when M7 came out with higher quality, i'll replace it. the thing is that i hope the group that scanlating it with HQ but slow release will maintain their project. if they want to argue its ok but stop from release it, that is so lame. i hope they change their mind about no to release it. for the other group out there, please dont stop releasing manga if their project got stolen. they're still other people out there that support u guys.

Sigh, Its more the fact of his intentions and that he was offered onto the project to help out with releases but went off on his own. they didnt mind the first release, it was only after they said about it and he released the second just to piss off the staff members that it became a problem. I think its courteousy to ask for a joint or to be allowed to carry on from where a group is at least before just releasing (dropped projects you cant).
People keep referring back to ID that kmt stole off bnc as well, they asked bnc for a joint in the project and got rejected. Im not sure if they asked to carry on from where they left off or not, but they got the tanks, trans and edited from the beginning and did alot of work on the series. Just releasing a few chapters here and there to provoke another group is not all that nice, especially if you dont have any will to carry on the project later.
There was a couple of the staff members who seemed to keep there head over this subject and things will hopefully return to normal amongst kmt once everyones had some time to cool off and think abit. Everyone gets aggrivated in the heat of the moment, yes there punishment was abit over the top but it was to make a statement. Perhaps once theyve calmed down we will resume service next week, lets just wait and see what news they post on there site. Going in and bitching to thems not gonna change anything so accept it and move on.
Also popular jump series (bleach, naruto, OP) dont really follow any rules about lots of groups doing them, plus could you imagine any group going to pick them up from the beginning now and scanlating them all the way through to the current chapter?
but heck leechers dont care where they get the latest manga, im sure it was summed up by someone else about how the place used to be a community and that you had to talk to get to the fservs before not just ddl and run. Most dont realise how much work goes on behind the scenes half the time and all groups are doing it for there enjoyment in there spare time, so give a little appreceation now and again.

I think if so many people have time to bitch and debate about the issue, everyone should learn a skill (editors and translators are in high demand!!), join the group of your choice and then have a deciding factor in the quality/speed of releases~
Personally, as staff of kmts and Mado's friend, I have to admit to being amused at the whole situation. Sure kmts was wrong in stopping releases and Mado's intentions weren't pure, but THIS IS THE INTERNET! Nothing is sacred. If anyone wants a real say, join the groups. (mine is recruiting too! #meep@irchighway) lol.

Hmmm... no, nothing's wrong with that. No one owns the copyright to any series. Though I used to freak out majorly when another group did the same project as the one I belonged to, I no longer care. If they want to do it and do a much better job than my group does, good for them and let's drop it.
(Yes, I'm looking at some of you manga groups who pick up others' projects and also cry "Wolf" when the opposite happens.)

Even I'm still not used to the idea of doing something another group already releasing, but this is the internet. and no certain groups has the right to say that they own the projects, except for the publisher and the manga
scanlaton groups can ask to for a joint....i think that's the best way, since i think that we should respect other scanlation groups.
some of the groups im working for and some that i know of are doing this too, i tried to ask them to maybe ask for a joint first or maybe drop it, but everyone ignored it. that's why i don't care anymore, I would just simply stop helping out for the projects that are being "stolen", and move on to another new project.

its not that he stole the project persay.. its the mannor in which he did it... he didn't do it to "speed" things up, he did it for the sole purpose of pissing us off.

So, this topic is more like about one incident and not actually stealing projects general but whatever.
Quote from ranmaru
if they were smart enough they would work together, after all you all are people interested in working in the same manga, so just make it a joint project.
About your suggestion for the groups to joint and one reason why groups don't joint on projects: the quality of one group might be vastly different from the other group and jointing would lower the HQ group's releases and since they don't want to drop their scanlation quality, they don't joint. That's the only good reason I can think of.

Well, what if the group just doesn't feel like competing for releases, is satisfied with the quality of the competitors' scanlations, and just drops it since it seems another group is going to continue it? Plus, if they just drop it so the other group can continue, doesn't that mean they can scanlate other manga that haven't been scanlated yet, thus adding more scanlations instead of the same manga chapter 5 times over, so, really, just the group's opinion and decision. (Does anyone understand what I just said?)

Yay! I like what you said. Nice, simple and to the point.
