Have you guys ever read a series (on-going series) and somewhere along the line you feel like the story is coming to a close, or you just feel like it. It’s like this is the final arc or adventure of that series; it going end soon. Ever get that feeling? Well I have, all the time when I really like a certain on-going series and reading every time it releases (scanlated). How about you guys?

Sometimes...?

With the big three, anything can happen though, so you can't predict there, but I'm pretty sure that FMA is at its latest chapters since all the pieces are getting into place.

Hardly ever.

If there is one thing i've noticed, it's endings can be so random and can appear at any time. I mean look at Shina Dark. I didn't even know it ended when I read the last chapter XD

Very, very rarely. Those sudden open endings suck. And as tactics said, there's manga that don't even bother with any form of ending.

I've felt that way with Loveless from about volume 7 (it's at vol. 9 now). It just seems to me that after this part of the story, most of the questions will be answered and there won't be anything else to do. I'd love to be wrong, though.

I've seen manga end, but generally I can feel the ending. Something like the To-Love-Ryuu ending, where it just comes on suddenly and...what? That's it? I hate that.. Give us SOME form of conclusion!

There are a lot of stories that in which the main protagonist sets out to achieve a certain goal, and when he is drawing close to achieving that goal, you can tell the story is drawing to the end. Kinda like Shin Angyo Onshi

It depends. I can usually feel it when the mangaka really intended to end the series (I mean, it's quite obvious that Shina Dark wasn't meant to be ended like that but the author was obliged and had to give a sort of closure, another example is Mx0).

You can Sometimes tell when all the questions start getting answered really fast or they get really close to fighting the big bad guy or obtaining what they were looking for etc.
But a lot of the time I get faked out and I think something's coming to an end and then a new twist comes in and it keeps going on.
And more often than not I get blindsided by an ending out of nowhere.

I guess it's always hard to find when it's ending unless it's directly been stated that it's going to end because anything's possible with fiction.

Sometimes I can feel/tell when a series is going to end, and in some ways I like that, because it helps me know that the mangaka was planning the story from the beginning (unlike some ongoing manga that just keep going on...and on... and on...) and that it will have a nice legitimate ending, so to some extent I like being able to feel when the manga should end, because if I get the feeling it should end it’s usually winding down and if it doesn’t end its just drawing itself out (and usually getting worse as it does so…)
