Anyone noticing someone keeps slightly changing descriptions edits on series, mostly BL, especially webtoons, I'm trying to edit them to make them more comfortable reading instead of looking all crowded but someone keeps undoing them
It's kinda annoying, one small ex.

I would put

Original Webtoon:
(Link), (link)

So it be noticeablely read & not be mix up with the links or I space them out so it won't look to messy/crowd but they'll do

Original Webtoon: (link), (link)
Most of time when it's like that it gets messy looking

And some notes would be deleted too, I also add color codes but they always delete the color codes, I add color so ppl can differinate
I noticed this sometime last month(July 2021)

Oh and they add side story chapter & main story chapters together & delete seasons edits, some ppl on Twitter noticed & said it's confusing that they add it with main story & even count the reviews as chapters

Maybe I'm being picky but I want hear your thoughts on this

Sorry for the confusion I meant they combine the main & side story chapters together for example:

There's a total of 24 characters (Main) & 10 Side story, the person would add them together & put 34 Chapters instead.

They would also count the reviews as Chapters, so say there's 3 reviews they would add it & put 37 Chapters

I usually put links (original & official translations) above the synopsis, but then it got moved below the synopsis
Synopsis are usually too long and i want to make it easier to find and click the links without spend time scrolling through those excessively long synopsis

I also add novel link with proper credit but as always, it got deleted 😅 after several times add novel link and got deleted, i'm just becoming lazier and lazier and don't bother to add again

I also type "from [g]group name[/g]:" instead of direct url to scanlation but somehow it was edited again

My notes also got deleted hahah 😂 just hope ppl won't edit to incorrect information again 😁

Exactly, I do the same but the person always deletes it, like we're trying give more info so others can know but they keep deleting it for no reason, that's why I screenshot my edits incase they get removed.
I see so many ppl ask for novel links so that's why I add them to the description bc many ppl come here to see if they're added.

I need links to specific series so that I can check the logs and see who is doing the edits

There so many but I'll add the ones I can remember, most are just slight changes nothing to big but I try find them

https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=186276
https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=168404

These are the only ones I can remember since I kept editing them or recently edit them to look more comfortable reading & one series where they keep deleting links, sorry I can't remember all of them
With one I deleted the important warning signs since the person kept deleting the color codes and i was tired of reediting it but the person didn't seem to mind it gone lol 🙄 🙄

Okay I believe they also did this as well since I remember spacing them out & adding Bold code before

Add the link to the series so we can know which ones are being removed & the administrator can know who's doing it

I want you guys (the 2 of you so far as well as some others I've invited to look at this thread) to work together here in this thread and hash out a standard/consistent way to do descriptions, since it appears you all have different preferences. I don't care as long as it doesn't break any of our rules and appears consistent across most series.

Sounds good, okay I guess I can go first, if it's not fit I wouldn't mind other suggestions

Okay if a series has multiple platforms (more than 3), also includes translation, if so it could look like this, so it be more comfortable to read

Original Webtoon:
(Link), (Link)

Official Translations:
(Link), (Link)

Instead of this
Original Webtoon: (Link),(Link)
Official Translation: (Link), (Link)

(the word Original or Official can be used which ever word you seem fit from the source its from)

If it only has one it could look like this

Original Webtoon
Official (Language)

If it only has one platform but has multiple official translation it can look look like this

Original Webtoon

Official Translation:
(Link), (Link)

I think notes should be italic & color code (either black or red) so people can differinate from the synopsis & links color like so

Note:
It be cool have notes in color

Tho not all notes need be in color unless it's important or so but if somes done it already just let it be

Does anyone have more suggestions?

Oh and main story, side story and reviews that are titled as Epilogue (but aren't Epilogues) shouldn't be combine

Example:
It should be
24 Chapters + 10 Side Story
Not
34 Chapters
Epilogue/reviews shouldn't be considered Chapters as they're just author notes & aren't actually chapters to the story unless it's a special

Edit:
About Mature & All-Age terms
R19, R15 - 19+ 15+ can be used as well but adding "version" after it can make it to long so the short terms are better so it wouldn't look so crowded in the description

Links placements if the synopsis is to long links should be place on top
Okay after some discussion, link placement can be at the bottom but they should be above the notes

And I think seasons should be short so it won't be to long so instead of Season 1 it should be S1

Also I don't think it's necessary add the word "translation" to every "Official (Language) " because it's obvious it's an official translation

Edit: Also these are suggestions, you yourself do not need to do them but if someone has done it already just leave it as so and don't delete them

Ah uhmm...I prefer the normal one than color & bold...
That depends on individual's preferences, so some may feel it annoying (dazzling and uncomfortable to look at), some may find it easier to look for information they need.

But i agree with this

I personally don't want a standard for series description. Make me feel like I'm doing Microsoft Word assignment or looking for resume templates.
Imagine when I want to add description, i should look for the standard template, is it bold here, plural or singular noun, ways to separate paragraph, color, abbreviation or full word, etc., then I'd rather not do anything.

And afaik direct url to scanlation is not allowed.

That's cool, I just want others be more comfortable reading & differinate between the line, if you dont want do that, that fine but atleast use italic for notes if you're not comfortable with adding color or bold, im fine with the normal color as long as it's in italic but warning or VERY important notes can be in color, you don't have do them but if someone else did it before it's best to just leave it

Omg 🤣 🤣
I'm sorry for making it that way

I'd like to point out that there's good reason links should go below rather than above a synopsis. When you put them above, all a user sees in the little synopsis snippets when looking through series information is "Original Webtoon: KakaoPage, Naver Series, Ridibooks Official Translation: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Indonesian, Japanese, Thai" rather than an actual meaningful synopsis. It defeats the purpose of even having the synopsis previews when browsing series lists since you still have to click/open the link to see the actual summary.

Example

Oh yea I definitely see the problem, I guess if there's to many links it be best put them at the bottom and if it's less at the top then

I never notice since with my devices it shows me the whole descriptions, I didn't consider other devices

Frankly, it'd be better to have them all at the bottom unless you're going to set a hard rule for what is considered less. Even with just two links, a synopsis snippet can get drowned out to just barely a sentence depending on how much someone decides to write for the text of each link (example).

There's plenty of more examples for works with three to four links (all arguably "less" or just a few), but the synopsis is still pushed out of view in the series previews.
