From the description this sounds a lot like Angel Sanctuary. Anyone read both?

Although they basically sound the same, they diverge quite noticeably with many many differences.

This is also noticeably shounen

One is a mature action seinen and the other a fantasy romance shoujo? Similar? Am i missing something or am i think of some other manga entirely?

@EternalNightmare Come on really? 2 boys make a pact to help each other, one goes yakuza, the other goes politics. From the synopsis i'm getting the same feeling. If you haven't read Angel Sanctuary or you've read it a million years ago and don't remember, then don't talk.

I do not understand the topic so these are about mafia.
Heat 7/10 is like an inferior Sanctuary.
Yamikin Ushijima-kun 9/10 does not quite fit but the best yakuza manga currently going.

The DC comic Sandman 9/10 and it´s spin-offs are like Angel Sanctuary 8/10.

I also read EU/US comics and am a librarian.
