i found this series not too long ago and gave it a try...i must say it was different from what i thought it would be...the art is good and i'm looking forward to how the story will unfold. what do you think of this anime that was based on one of Shakespeare's greatest works?

Ooh, I love it! Once I heard of it, I knew I just had to watch it!
Romeo is adorable and Juliet looks so awesome when she puts her hair up! I think they've done an amazing job with the anime so far! The backgrounds have a lot of detail! And I'm really looking forward to seeing if it will end like the book! If it does, it will be heartbreaking

just yesterday I watched eps 1-11, gotta say much better than I had expected , gonzo really did a good job.
Juliet is so adorable, and her long hair is so pretty ^^, I wish her seiyuu was Ayako Kawasumi oh well.
I wonder if Willy at the theater is Shakespeare .
I was kinda disappointed with Kaze no Stigma, not the story but the animation.

I didn't like the original Shakespeare work, cause it was so painful I hate it when main characters die...
thats why i'm afraid of watching it...

Besides happy endings to a known tragedy is lame. Least they can do is show them happy 2gether in heaven pointing and laughing at the ones learning their lesson down below.......

i agree, i don't like painful endings either, that's why i was hesitant at first. but after watching i just couldn't stop so now i'm hoping they might change the ending for the better

yup, the animation is kind of disappointing, but the story is good so far. i just wished they followed the novel more.
btw the OP song is great so romantic

I'd like for them to die.
That wish is not for any particular vindictive reasons, but I'd like it if the makers of the anime will stay true to the story of Romeo & Juliet by Shakespeare. If Romeo and Juliet do not die, the story will simply be another romance that has star-crossed lovers in them. It will be similar to a million other stories already told using that theme as a plot device.
My guess is that they will not die. In the trailer, during the climatic battle against each other, RxJ fall off the tower and by the looks of it, off of the floating continent in a double suicide. In the opening of the anime though, they show romeo with the same armor, battered and bruised but still alive, being cheerful in a field of flowers.

I was guessing that they were dead and they were being symbolic showing them in a field of flowers. (I was pointing and laughing at that scene because I just felt it was sooo cheezy!)

I'm very glad Gonzo decided to do another remake of a classic. Their art style is always so fresh and innovative and the visuals in RxJ are simply fantastic.
I personally hope they dont change the tragic ending but given the liberties theyve taken they probably wont die =/
As for Gankutsou, the ending was somewhat of a tragedy but one that was unfaithful to Duma's original ending.
[Just to rant, ep 10-11 have been sickeningly sappy and is completely ruining the series]

This is actually not my favorite Shakespeare work since (1) I don't like tragic stories, and (2) in my opinion, the original Romeo and Juliet were hormonal, brash teens/pre-teens/tweens/etc... but I decided to watch the anime, and it was pretty good. What really impressed me was the music... I mean... seriously... for some reason, I started thinking about Lord of the Rings... like... it was epic! I think I have to get the soundtrack right after I write this reply.
I could go on and on about music, but for the story... I liked that Juliet was changed into a strong female lead. I also liked Romeo's character development... Yup! Giving our two star-crossed lovers some maturity and brains was a good change!
