With the release of the latest entry in the Punch-Out franchise, I thought it might be a good time to discuss about the franchise, in addition to which one is consider to be your favorite.

I previously play Super Punch Out for the SNES, but it was the Wii version that got me hook up the moment I saw a few previews on youtube. It was very similar to the original NES games, with good voices and great music, and it was able to keep true to the nostalgic gameplay that made it so famous (along with some characters).

If this game solds well (and it should), I really hope that they create a sequel, with wi-fi, more original characters (with a few fan-favorite) and multiplayer that actually allows anyone to be other boxers besides Little Mac.

Overall, the Punch-Out franchise is among Nintendo's best.

I'd say the new Punch-Out for the Wii. It manages to have the feel and the difficulty likethe original, but adds new things to make it fresh so that people can't say it's just a remake with better graphics.

But that Title Defense Mode...that thing is a bitch to beat.

I just beat Title Defense Mode...

Oh God, it's so hard. And I mean "Old-School NES/Famicom Game" hard. The hardest two for me in the mode were Bald Bull and Mr. Sandman. Bald Bull doesn't even go down when you punch him, he regains health, and you HAVE to knock him down with a star punch. And with Mr. Sandman, his punches are so fast that when he winks, the next thing you see is that his arm is up and that Mac just got hit. I AM NOT SHITTING YOU. The good thing is that his punches don't One-Hit KO you like Tyson's and Mr. Dream's were able to do in the original.

I guess the only thing that's bad about the game is that even though you get to unlock all of these fighters, you can't play as them. Hopefully if they make a next one, you'll able able to play as anybody.

Also, you're able to unlock Donkey Kong when you beat him in Mac's Last Stand, but there's really no point in unlocking him seeing how the only thing you can do with D.K. is fight against him over and over.

I would say the new punch out. Because it has the best replay value.
