I was wondering if the woman Ian loves is his father's second wife?? I remember we get a glimpse of her when she is first introduced by the father, and in the family picture she is looking at the father's face is intentionally not drawn, which leads me to speculate about her identity... Seeing how much Ian's life already sucked, I wouldn't be surprised if the author made his life even worse by doing that to him...

I obviously have to read this again to catch that... I was under the impression that Ian's priority was finding his sister... I didn't remember his loving any other woman besides her (and in a familial way).

But yes... considering how sucky his life was, I wouldn't be surprised if that was thrown in too... Makes you feel like your life's not all that bad in comparison to his, huh?
