Alright, it's my bad mood moment. I just had a surgery to remove a wisdom tooth an hour ago...............I have stitches and the pain killer isn't working........Just vote do you think Wisdom Teeth should be removed? No nonsense or I'll report you.

Oh great, and I'm going to the dentist in 1/2 an hour....

I would have them removed, personally.

It sucks, but man it will be so worth it. Have you seen pics of people that didn't get rid of them? I don't know if all people will end up messed up, but I think its a large majority. What's a little pain now compared to a lifelong problem.

Most people just don't have space in their mouths for wisdom teeth; I don't really think it's a matter of "straight teeth". Some people's wisdom teeth cause all kinds of problems with their other molars, get infected, etc.

I had all four of mine taken out at once, almost 15 years ago (yeah, I'm old 😛 ). It wasn't fun, but wasn't too terrible either, and now they're done & I don't have to think about 'em any more. 😃

SO here's my wisdom teeth story-

When I joined the military, my wisdom teeth were already coming in. I went to the Air Force hospital on my base for a routine checkup on my teeth and the dentist did a full mouth x-ray to see what was up. He came back into the room after developing them to tellme that he had good news. My wisdoms were not impacted and would come in straight as an arrow with no problems. He was happy because it was going to be very easy for the general surgeon to remove the teeth!!!!! I was like "what!?!? If they are straight, why do I have to have them removed?"
I was told that military policy is to remove all wisdom teeth. For no reason other than sometimes they don't come in straight. I didn't understand why I had to have mine out because they were straight. The doctor (who is also an officer) then "ordered" me to stand by and have my wisdom teeth removed at the next opportunity. By the next week I was in surgery having all four wisdom teeth out at once. Since they came in straight, it was no problem and the surgery ended up taking less time than it took to anesthetize me!
Now I am without my wisdom teeth and can say I don't really miss them.
Yay for me!

When they hurt? That's just a dumb move. The earlier you fix the problem of wisdom teeth the easier they are to remove. You don't want the roots to develope; during the procedure they put you to sleep anyways.

Also trust me there are too many problems that wisdom teeth can cause if your mouth can't handle them.

I'll deal with that when I have to; right now I'm dealing with braces x 2 and that's about all I can handle. 🤢

Actually by the time I had mine out I was out of college & working, so I paid for it myself...

amen. I had mine out before they really broke through that bad, and it barely hurt at all. I only took the gigantic tylenol they gave me for like 5 days until the pain subsided.

I stayed away from the killer pain med's they gave me b/c apparently tif they caused a reaction, I would've needed quite a few sapositories to fix it. Wasn't really something I wanted to risk

Holy.....you guys are scaring me 😐 Mine started to grow last year, and due to my habit of chewing with the end of my jaw it kinda came out sideways o_o. I didn't know that it causes crooked teeth though I hope that doesn't happen to me (I don't want them out >_<)

I would guess that they don't want the wisdom teeth to cause problems later, so they get 'em out early. I mean...better to be out a few days during training (or whatever) than to be overseas in the middle of a war zone and then have impacted, infected wisdom teeth that make you useless, right?? From what I understand, with wisdom teeth it's generally more a matter of "when will they cause problems" than "will they cause problems".

a lot of pain in any place expect in my mouth. ^_^
