Hullo, all. I'm looking to do a bit of J->E translating. English is my first language and I'm studying advanced Japanese in college. Yes, I know what I'm doing; no, I won't take a translation test. I'm not looking to do any long projects, so if it turns out I can't live up to my opinion of myself, then I'll only have wasted my own time doing an entire script. I'm not fast (busy schedule and all that), but I average 2-3 pages per day minimum, and I'll do better whenever time allows.

What I want:

• oneshots or a 2-3 chapter serial to work on
• original stories (rather than something tied into a longer series)
• easy access to raws for whatever I'd be translating
• an active group that's relaxed about deadlines but cares about quality
• a group leader/administrator I can communicate with via email rather than using forums or chatrooms or whatever
• freedom to devise my own script formatting
• if your group uses TL-checkers, then a TL-checker who is fluent enough in both English and Japanese to distinguish between a non-literal translation and an actual mistake

What I won't translate:

• hentai
• fan comics (100% original "doujinshi" are fine)
• promos, omake or oneshots that are part of a longer series
• gag manga
• 4-koma
• sports manga
• game-related manga
• things another translators skipped, screwed up or abandoned

What I will translate:

• pretty much anything else
• manga with no furigana
• sound effects (by request; no point translating them if the typesetter isn't going to use them)

Please include at least a few pages of the raws for whatever you'd want translated (either as an attachment or hotlinks to the files) plus some indication of how long (in pages) the story is if you're not sending the whole thing. A link to a previous release you consider representative of your group's quality would be nice, too.
