Quote from shoujo22

About 95% of the smut I've read has been completely and totally stupid, and I ended up laughing at stuff that probably wasn't even supposed to be funny 🤣 . I did like Midnight Secretary though. Oh, and Chou yo Hana yo. It was pure crack. Completely ridiculous, but I laughed my @$$ off reading it though. That series is SO not to be taken seriously.

Other than those two series, I've found that smut mangas aren't really to my liking 😔

haha u r absolutely right! 😁 😁
I love Chou yo Hana yo and all other works of YOSHIHARA Yuki sensei
I personally think that Midnight Secretary is so so. The artwork is ok only.

In Smut genre, i think there r many Kayono's fans. But i don't think her works deserve such praises. I even hate that author more after the Plagiarism case between her and Takashima Kazusa http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=10691 😐 >:-(

Smut is fine, you know... as long as there's a decent plot. Not something so pointless like... er... Baby Pink KISS? Or something like that.

i dont really care for smut. I thought i could look past reading a manga with smut and it kind of grossed me out. o.o Not trying to sound like a prude or anything, but the series i read they kept drooling when they were turned on or something. It was just really bizarre that i had to put it down. 😐

Nay.

I've never read any smut and never will.

I tend to avoid manga that have smut tags in it, and I never look for any either. 😮

I say yay.
I don't have a problem with it.
The excessive fluids are annoying and disgusting but I get past that

I'm going to say 'sometimes'. It really depends on my mood and the context of the sex in the manga.

I said "Sometimes"... because if it's done well and makes sense in the plot, then it can be nice. However, smut done just for smut's sake is usually pretty lame.

Nay
Sorry but i checked out a few chapters of a manga in this genre to understand what it is and all i have to say is that i wont be reading any smut ever. Not even a 'good' plot would be worth it. Not my thing.

I voted "sometimes"....
If the manga is good and the art is good then I don't really mind it...
I don't look for it but if it fits into the story then thats okay! 😀 😀
I don't really like if it's really "steamy and hot" as some people say, an innocent one is just as good.. 😛 🤣

An example of a good smut manga ;

KYOU, KOI WO HAJIMEMASU, ( but this is the least sexy from Minami Kanan, I think)
SUKITTE II NA YO.

It's like any other element, if it's done right, it's good. But those are generally labeled as mature instead of smut i guess. I get the people who just don't like it though. Everyone has some elements which they're irked by. This one's not one of those for me.

Also

Quote from Xeronia

For me, it really depends on the story. Basically, as long as it's done properly and contributes to the story, then it's fine. Also, it should be more on the sexual side, otherwise a bit of kissing would suffice. Like, the smut should be pretty darn close to hentai, only prettier and not disgusting-looking, also with normal sex instead of weird stuff.

Otherwise, it might as well not be there.

I agree, for the most part.

Voted yaaaay cause I'm going through a huge smut kick right now. Been studying my ass off for the past few months and I guess maybe I use it as a brainless escape? It is also not as angsty (or long) as most of the shojo series which I normally love, meaning... I can actually put it down when I need to go back to studying. As with every genre out there, there are the good ones and there are the bad ones.

It's nice to have smut around as one of those sort of comedic relief sort of things... IS THAT AN INSULT...? Well, nevertheless I enjoy smut.

I'll pass.

Most of the time series with the genre label "smut" ends up being soft core porn. Yes, there is a story there, but what story there is, is not good enough to justify it's use of sex.

If they're nicely done then Yay. I haven't been able to find any smut comedy that can be compared to Darling wa Namamono ni Tsuki.
