Someone broke into our house too, while we were on vacation. Stole a lot of stuff, including my mom's car (ignored mine! 🤣 ) and jewelry and purses (stupid burglars, didn't steal tv or something better). Everything got recovered though~ Yay for the police!
Do you think the thief/thieves was/were female? o_o And how did it get recovered? Did the police find the thief/thieves or were they recovered when the people tried to pawn the stuff?

my cellphone once, and some cash....
it's usually me who steals stuff, but i never steal from people.
Uhh, so you're ripping off retailers? 😕

My apple t-shirt, it's one of my favs and i was using it as my gym t-shirt, someone picks my lock and steals it. Where i live you only have an apple t-shirt if you work at the apple store and my bro works there and got it for my b-day. 2 weeks later, i see the girl with my shirt on in the locker room. I knew it was mine because i put holes in the long sleeves. I run up to her, rip the shirt off her and punched her in the stomach. We got into a huge fight and were suspended for 2 weeks. So worth it for my fav. t-shirt, though i had to wash it like 4x 'cuz i didnt know what she did with it.
That girl has guts to show it off in front of the person she stole it from! 😲 And she must've known there were identifying marks unless the marks were really subtle (but you could see them clearly, by the looks of it). How old was she? High school or junior high? And you "rip[ped] the shirt off"? Really? 😲 😳 🤣

I have a pair of diamond and pearl earings that were stolen, but we don't know who did it. I think they were 130, if memory serves. My great-grandmother gave them to me for Christmas and I never even got to wear them.
Wow, they weren't even on your ear and they were gone. 😢 I guess someone stole them out of your room or where you kept them?
"130"? Is that Euros? ("Location: The place with hot sauce." = Texas...?) Because that sounds like a really small diamond plus maybe an okay-quality pearl? It probably sounds mean along with your loss, but I somehow image that price tag to be bigger for jewellery.

Someone stole my $17 scientific calculator from me last week!
There are people in high school that have to buy a graphic calculator that's about $130 in order to pass a course because the education board agreed to integrate the course to require a company's calculator. I know a classmate that said that he had 3 of these lost, according to my recollection. 😳 So $17... shrugs (Besides, you'll probably lose out on something that costs more than $17 if you're as young as you sound.)

My little brother's ipod was stolen from me when I went to the back of the room to turn some work into a teacher.... should of never turned my back
Mymoney that I saved for like a year it was about $100 dollars... I was 10 at the time
Some DVDs ummm.... someone broke into my dad's car and stole another ipod and an ipod charger.... what's with people and ipods 😐 e
I guess it's because Apple made that iPod so covetable? And to have an iPod at 10 years old? I'm sort of surprised that no one tried to grab it out of your hand on the street. The iPod is probably a high theft item along with laptops (and money, no doubt).
I remember hearing this guy on the train said that he was trying to steal this iPod from a guy when it was a newer release, and so this guy was even showing off the iPod to this (crook) guy and letting him hold it, and so the (crook) guy said he was even going to steal it then and then the owner got smart and took it back and said, "Maybe I'll just show it to you." 😀 (The crook guy sounded like a jerk anyhow.)

Anyhow for me, I can't remember exactly what I lost that was important. I remember I've lost at least 2 hats (one was a crappy baseball-type cap that was about 30% cotton and 70% polyester and it was a restaurant hat with plain letters and I was thinking that it was gross since I would sweat on the rim part that sat on my forehead because of the polyester. It surprised me that someone would keep that one, but maybe the person was just lazy returning it and inevitably "kept it". It also had that plastic "trucker hat" 'snap level' adjuster. The other one was a nice hat that I didn't appreciate enough at the time. It was brown on the visor part that was a suede-like material and a nice metal adjuster. It disappeared from where I accidentally forgot it really fast) and a scarf that was really long (a metre) that was probably hand-knitted (I wore it on a warm day like a shawl around my shoulders because it was too warm to put around my neck, and I didn't notice when it fell off) I was negligent handling, where I didn't watch over my shoulder or secure and so the item went out of my sight. But it's better to lose things that are small rather than the big stuff, like being conned out of $1000s of dollars. I'm sure the "looting" from me as made me more cynical, and probably anything about thieves breaking into houses. Makes me a victim.
I'll also really, really mourn the loss of something, possibly for days and hope that the item will come back to me. (This is partly due to my personality though.) And fortunately in some cases where I thought I had lost something, I found that I had just misplaced it among something else. I suppose the best way to just realize how much you miss something once it's gone, is to lose it and then realize how happy you are when you get it back.
But thief probably doesn't get much scrutiny on TV when we watch a person do it in a story. I can't think of an example right now, but I think drug use gets frowned upon more. But this might be just my perspective on what I'm watching. Or wait, there's also identity theft that's on the rise, and I see that as worse than anything mentioned above because that screws a person for life as I see it. And where ever that hoarding mail thread is, this is another reason why a person would hoard mail. To steal a person's identity and the person does this by stealing the mail with lots of personal (bill) info.

One was female and other was male. They were a couple O_O
They tried to pawn it, but small stuff was only recovered after the police found the car and tracked down the thieves.

All the time.
People are dicks. I can't begin to understand how the majority of them think.
