ok so in the anime Vampire Knight, episode 10 we discovered who the "knight" was from kaname!

so before leaving, kaname goes to zero's cell [where he is currently locked up in], he explains why his blood can feel danger coming, he had drank yuki's blood which now has turned into a pureblood's blood. and kaname's has shizuka's. kaname says he has been making sure everything goes right, he has been planning this for zero to be the Knight who will be able to defeat Rido. kaname has been raising him to "checkmate" the king. saying "That Knight is you".
