Patience, patience, it's not that difficult to load another page..just a bit annoying...(unless you've got dial-up quality internet like mine TT_TT)

It probably won't be back. The reason why we took it down in the first place was because so many people were using it that the server was slowing down because of the huge load on it due to the amount of queries.

If the the 'Global Search' is to be disabled, Just rename it from 'Search Disabled' to ‘Advanced search’.
Or make one ‘Normal Search’ where ‘Series’ is default choice, with a delay to ease the load off the server.
Add an optional ‘Advanced Search’ to find the other stuff.

I don't mind having it gone, but if possible i'd like to have the "search mangaka, scanlator, publisher, release, series" entry fields all up without having to resort to doing a search in the manga search box first.
I wonder if it's possible to have a firefox add-on to search for a series using it search box. 😀

I also have no problem with the search as it is now. Generally I'm only looking for something in one field at a time anyway, so I don't need more than that. However, to eliminate the extra page where you choose which field to search, maybe a drop-down menu (like on amazon.com, etc) would be possible?

That would be nice, then I would be able to save alot of time by not having to click on an extra page.

i think the surrent system is fine because it helps to narrow down the results to what you're looking for faster
but that's just my personal preferance

Ironic how? 🤢
But I don't like how the search is set up now. If I have to click more than once, at least have the clicking all in one area instead of having me on the right side of my screen and then the left. 😛 For the occasion (like once a week...) search it's not a big thing, but about one search a day? It requires too much conscious thinking performing the search when I just want to find '[manga title]'. I'm not researching an essay. 🤣 😳

ironic in that he's not saving a lot of time by not having to click on an extra page, i.e. verbal irony.
'snot like he'll gain enough time to take a 30 min nap, or something.

It's one extra click.
A single click.
Are you people really that lazy?
Seriously. The site actually loads ALOT faster because of the amount of queries it doesn't have to sort through now.
Although, Lamb already stated this.
Although Global Search may not return, we're currently looking into better ways to incorporate the searches into the site so that everyone can do their searching, while the site maintains its speed.
Please understand the site uses alot of resources and bandwidth (regularly, we see about a thousand people on the site at any given time. This number spikes during high traffic times, and drops during low traffic times. This is a conservative estimate. The most we've had on at any time is about 6,700).
Welcome to Manga-Updates!
If you're new, please read the rules.
If you're returning, please follow them.
