In shoujo... In yaoi too.
Since in such genres there's a clear couple, even in love triangles...
Not much of a surprise when they end up together.
But when the mangaka manages to make it original and exciting, is what makes those good reads.

Well, can't complain on the stuff I read though. Since I don't pick up what I know isn't for me. Usually it's the cliche stuff...~
Can't say much about shoujo, but I'd say that good BL still give that warm feeling when everything comes together.

I guess being a picky reader helps in this case. 🤣

Mostly in shounen harems/ecchi mangas. It's quite obvious what the heroine/hero is always gonna do, since the whole scenario has been repeated usually too many times in too many different manga of that genre. And usually the main male character is the same wimpy boy who just happens to attract a flock of hot girls, and is too dense to notice they all like him. and he always gets into weird situations by accident o_o.

ZomG!! That's soo TRUE!!!11
Srsly, why would some mangakas waste their freakin careers making stereotypical characters and unoriginal plot?!?

And lol, ecchi Harem can be good sometimes but yea...it's so stupid thinking some bloomers trying to get into that guy's pants.. and lol, what's so special about that guy anyway? Even Hentai...most hentai have this kind of stereotypical normal guy..and lol, they turn me off..

and smutty shoujos..70% of them Offend me!! They're glorifying Rape..degrading women to the point of being Naive, dumbstruck, indecisive and simply vulnerable. And lol, is it forgivable for Hot Bishies to Rape girls and then fall in love with them? This is plain stupid..I can't believe these Smutty shoujos are made by Female mangakas...

Some action/shounen/ecchi genres also have predictable pattern.. Like a normal highschool boy meets a Super-cool powerful Chick or someone awesom. His life changed Forever!

ahhahaa...I guess there's also a downside to some manga genres... 😐

I also know where I'm going if I'm driving with a map, and what stops I'm going to make along the way(if I plan well).

A good manga doesn't have to shatter the mold. It may not have even attacted me in the first place if I thought it was some weird crap(unless it did because I thought it was weird).

While journeying there, and knowing what the vague outline is, and even being able to guess what happens, doesn't always mean the manga will be boring. Just because something seems like a sure bet doesn't mean it's what will happend(take strawberry 100%).

Even then the journey might be fun. Like a roadtrip with friends might still be funny. You might get distracted and end up going to a completely different place. How often do we read about manga ka's changing the ending, or not knowing how they'll finish something, or deciding to change an ending.

Though recently I gave up pretty quick on Inukami. When something is so generic it doesn't feel the need to even establish characters... that's really lazy.

Hmm, well I read a lot of Shoujos, specifically Shoujo Oneshots, and even after reading the oneshot's summary here in MU, you already know what will happen.

Haha, I usually read those kind of stuffs, and sometimes I like to guess what happens. And 99% I'm right. 😀

I'm happiest when I get completely thrown back by something happening that I could have never imagined. But that seems to happen too rarely lately...
I've either got ESP or I stumble only across bad manga recently. >_>
