In case you don't know, we now have custom lists. This means you can make as many lists as you want for keeping track of your manga! You must be a registered member (it's easy and free!) to use this function. For instance, you could make one list for series you would really recommend and another list for all the hentai series you read (>_> ) .
However, there are still some limitations we are working to get around (like how you cannot add a series on more than 1 list at this moment). If you have any problems or suggestions (or feel that we should know something about custom lists), then please post them on our forum here:

Anyways, onto the poll!
This poll idea was submitted by our member LunaMay. So in 10 years from now, do you think you'll still be enjoying manga? (Hopefully this site lasts that long...) I'm gonna guess that most people will put a "maybe" as an answer though.

You can discuss this poll on our forums here:
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=9700

Previous Poll Results:
Question: For about how long have you read scanlations?
Choices:
None, I don't read scanlations - votes: 77 (0.6%)
Within the last year (2008-2009) - votes: 1212 (9.9%)
1-2 years (2006-2007) - votes: 3666 (29.9%)
3-4 years (2004-2005) - votes: 3563 (29.1%)
5-6 years (2002-2003) - votes: 2148 (17.5%)
7+ years (2001 - prior) - votes: 1586 (12.9%)
There were 12252 total votes.
The poll ended: January 10th 2009

Hmm, so it appears that quite a lot of users are fairly new readers! And I'm amazed at the number of people with 7+ years under their belt! Congrats to all you avid manga readers!

No surprise on the poll that ended, yet again. xD It was obvious, since manga has been getting gradually more popular for a while, now.

As for the new poll, I voted 'Maybe', which is likely going to win, too. At present, I don't see any reason why I would stop, but really, it's ten years. That's a freaking long time.

I've been reading manga since I was 9 or so with Dragonball, 11 years ago.

As long as manga still remains entertaining, I don't see why I wouldn't still be reading.

Will I still be reading manga in 10 years? I dunno, I guess it depends on when One Piece ends... I ended up voting yes, because it very well may take 10 more years. Besides, if I keep finding new series' that I like, I don't see why I would quit. Not liking something because of age never made sense to me. A good story is a good story, and as long as I can find manga that I like, I'll read them.

I've been reading for 10 years, I think I can handle another 10 (; As long as mangaka still draw them and I can get them nearby (A few stores are nearby my place), I'll still read them.

I've been a fan of Ah My Goddess since it first came out. So I've watched how much the art has changed from the first volume to the present one. I'm not going to stop reading manga unless I'm on a hiatus studying for my courses.

haha lol, I was thinking the same thing. As long as there is One Piece then I'll be reading manga still. And while I wait for new chapters of One Piece I'll be reading the newly released manga that come out.

It hasn't been 10 years yet, but it's been about a good 7-8 years. I find my general taste in manga hasn't changed, but have been fortunate enough to expand out and enjoy a lot more than what I originally started with. I do not doubt I will stop reading manga, as long as we have an awesome community like we have had, and hopefully will continue to have.

I've been reading mangas for about 2 years, but I was first hooked & addicted to watching Animes & watching Asian Dramas.
I never really knew about the "Manga World" until I walked into Chapters & saw that a lot of the animes that I watched were books!
I instantly got hooked & went to the library to borrow some all the time!
I'd walk out of the library with my bag so full on mangas, that I'd have to bring 2! =O
Then I found out that there were sites, so I didn't have to stress myself (or break my back for the matter) and just read it online =)

I started reading manga ten years ago, but that doesn't mean I'll be reading it ten years from now. When I first started, I was ravenous and I read everything in sight. Now I only read a few series and whatever gets posted on my daily scanlation pages. Work and life started to catch up on me, and if I have to keep my priorities straight, I'd say that manga would go before I let my work performance slip. I just don't have as much time to read, and I'm finding more and more interesting books outside of manga. I hope to still be reading manga, but I'll probably read even less of it, and I'll only read specific artists. That's what I figure will happen in ten years, if the industry doesn't destroy itself in five.
