I read whatever I think is good (popular or not).... u know what they say about never judging books by their covers.....but I despise Naruto. I also use Mac/Linux, drive a hybrid car and ride a two-stroke bike.

Does that make me an Elitist? I hope not.

Nah, I'm not an elitist. I can't call anyone a Narutard or Bleach nut b/c I'm one too (T-T). Like Gan I read anything that I think is good. And there's really only one anime adaptation I refuse to watch and that's Gantz b/c the ending was just so awful, and it cut off right when the manga started to get good.

Bleach is entertaining. It ain't deep stuff, but it's kinda fun.

Naruto's just crap. Boring and uninteresting. That has nothing to do with elitism, just taste.

I'll watch anime adaptations. Sometimes they're good, sometimes not so much, but you gotta watch 'em to find out. Sometimes it's not so bad if they don't follow the manga too strictly, because it gives you some new content, a different perspective. Of course, it still has to be well done, and entertaining, or else... well, or else it's poorly done and not entertaining.

I wouldn't really consider myself elitist. I don't avoid Naruto, mainly for the fact that I've been reading it since I was 11, so I see no point. However, I don't really like the type of people who obsess over Naruto and Bleach and think they're the only animes out there. Also the types of people who say 'I like to watch anime and manga' because they obviously have no clue what they're taling about. Watch manga? Go ahead, be my guest, if you feel like staring at the cover of a book, rather then reading it. I avoid Bleach, but that's about it.

I can watch mainstream stuff, but usually

Is anyone else like me and read pretty much everything they can find with more than 4 volumes translated? Well everything but yaoi and shounen ai which kinda freaks me out. but i never generally watch anything i have read because it generally ruins the anime for me

Second that, considering 99% of the "otakus" in here are like this anyway.I have a low tolerance of weebos, and other kids (...my age <_<) that are completely obsessed with anime, Japan, Japanese, anything coming from Japan (and who prolly don't even know what manga is)

By those standards, yes I am -very- elitist. All attempts to convert me to Naruto or Bleach or w/e failed, I think that anyone who didn't watch Slayers, Sailor Moon or atleast one classic Shounen Jump series should be ashamed.
I tend to look for more unknown series and I don't have enough patience to pick up ongoing series with 28742784293+ chapters, so no One Piece, Inuyasha &co for me.

If by elitist you mean someone who doesn't read anything with a rating below 9, then I'm not one at all. I've read and liked some series considered pure !@#!$ and hated series that are considered the best nowadays.

The only thing I do is not watch parts of Anime adapted from manga when the fall to far away from the story. Mainly fillers.

I don't reckon that I'm an elitist, I read both Naruto and Bleach (and enjoy reading them) but I also read Mirai Nikki, Homunculus, Kurosagi and stuff (which I also love, Mirai Nikki especially).

I don't watch the anime adaptations anymore just becaues I truly believe that they ruin the manga.

The world would be a bleak place without manga.

well.....i hate typical mangas~ I used to read everything, but as time went I started getting picky.
I don't mind a manga being popularit's fun to have people to talk to about what I like.
but I do hate it when an anime goes out of the manga concept, I even stopped watching anime all that much.
I like it when a mangaka draws using his/her own style and doesn't just use the typical way you know shoujo/shounen
oh and I DO make fun of naruto fans XD wanna know why? cause i can't see how they can stand it anymore!!!! 🙄
