I'm quite curious how the traitors managed to hurt Rai that badly if they didn't just basically bum-rush him in a 6 v 1 fight. I guess we are about to find out, in a chapter or three.

Edit: Yeah, I only read the Raw and EGS version. The other early releases are.... well, not worth my time.

Have to admit, Strix's theory about some ancient monster, in one form or another, sounds legit. The basic premesis of the Noblesse being the avatar of pure power denies any sort of lame-ass trickery. Whatever it is, it has to be pretty damn powerful.

Well, okay, since we have Nobles and Werewolves already, how about some good old fashioned Dragons, eh? Thrown in something in flavor of Ancalagon the Black and you have a fight. And yes, I'm mostly joking. We'll see it when we see it.

According to Easy Going Scans translations, there were others involved besides traitors in the incident 820 years ago. So maybe some ancient noble is responsible? Or some mythical beast whom traitors revived?

Can't wait to see traitors reaction when they learn about Rai 😉

Well, neither saving countless humans nor fighting some WWs would nearly kill him. He nearly lost his full life force back then.

And now even with his small life force, he managed to kill two noble traitors and two human elders, and also had a friendly fight with Raskreia.

Even a weakened Rai can do this much so imagine him 820 years ago when his life force was nearly full and he was in his best condition.

i can think of only one thing based on the actions of rai till now and the comments of frank, they got hostages and did whatever with him, forcing him to some pretty bad shit, no other reason i can think that matchs with the history.
