Manga style in USA 😕 I have one called BLANK done pop mhan, pit out by tokyopop.
In a few words bad. This one was in a $5 bargin bin. 😀 😛 And one I know nearly dropped it when he found it was a stylised one. Pop mhan should have stayed in marvel and DC's world.
Could anyone give me a list of this type you have seen or read?
I am not talking main stream here, I know the mangised pop titles just more, please.

It's hard to make a list of 'em since you won't find any here, Mu only lists jap/korean/chines stuff, but you can always go to to tokyopop.com and look around, tokyopop is the only manga publisher that publishes american/jap comics that i know of....
you like that stuff? i think it lacks alot...
i read some of blank cause it looked good, but there's not much to it, there is a good american stylized jap comic, i like the sabrina comics, do you know them?

Its not really manga style in USA. But Wolverine Snikt! is manga from Marvel, made by the creator of Blame!

I have read some "world manga" (non japanese/korean/chinese manga-style comics), and liked some. Unfortunately, many are not that great and there should be a more rigorous selection process.
This thread is related and mentions some specific titles, so please check it out:
OEL Manga ... Your thoughts?
There are a number of US companies that are publishing or are going to publish "world manga" titles, such as TokyoPop and SevenSeas (the thread above goes into this a little too)

I know that, I can name a few titles my self. Wolverine has few but Snikt had bad art, Mary Jane (her own title) a few others.
Hard subject I know, But like a lot just to ask since I follow comic's (Marvel, DC, darkhorse) for a long time. Main stream comic's in America Marvel, DC have had a long long tradition of photo realism, superhero's and all.
I just wanted to know if anyone has come across some they liked or not. The one mentioned Blank was bad in. IT 'tryed' to copy the story telling style of weird guy comes to tries to help girl, girl is strong may get nasty stuff done later, 'cause dad is with/working with the bad guys,
It did the gag style of 'falling down, face kick in and all'. It just fell short for the usual school manga from Japan. And all you people out there reading this stuff must at some come across this sort of thing.
To end thanks

I don't think that's actually the case. I asked Manick about this and he accepted a title by Dark Horse that I submitted that was "manga-styled" by illustrated and written by someone in the USA. I made me wonder "Where exactly is the line drawn been manga and other 'manga-type' (or graphic novel) work?" He could have overlooked it, but I think Manick sort of checks the titles we submit (somehow). But think he even said "what made you think that we don't accept" non-foreign manga? But I commented about this months ago so I don't remember when I talked with him about it. 🙁
But I know TokyoPop supports USA 'mangakas' since they have their Rising Stars of Manga contest for the past few years (and I think it's still going), and they've published some books or series. It makes me wonder sometimes whether the author is from across the world on the same side when I pick up books that sound English-sounding (or rather, not Japanese. I know they had a Korean win one year). The first winner of the contest was put in charge of Sabrina the Teenage Witch's story and illustration (yes, this is the Archie comics version).
It has crossed my mind to add Sabrina to the database, but it became a 'manga' halfway through. Even though I read it, I have to wonder how the mangaka will really take the story. But Jojo's Bizarre Adventure has been going for many, MANY pages, but it's a shounen too, so having-the-never-ending-story method might be okay if character develop does not happen. But usually stories seem bad with sequels, right? It might be okay if no "end" is expected, though.
