So.... another month of flashback mode then? I personally felt that a lot of the fluff could have been cut out and we would have gotten the same amount of information that we did over the past few chapters. Oh well....

I wonder what happened to Izuna after he lost his eyes. Surely during a time of war there would most likely have been several opportunities to acquire a new set of eyes for him.

Now I'm hoping will finally find out where/how Hashirama acquired or developed the Wood Release, which only he was able to do. None of his descendants acquired it, and it seems none of his ancestors had it either.

Also, I really wonder how anyone managed to kill someone like him, given his vast power.

Yeah I mean it was good but the pacing has slowed down way too much. I'm guessing we might be in flashback mode for 2-3 months 😢

It just ocurred me. Why else do you think orochimaru was revived? he'll pull from his behind a secret way to cancel zombie jutsu, this being the only escape to madara's invincible mode.

Madara will cancel the jutsu himself. He can't become the jyuubi jinchuuriki while he's dead, and he can't be revived by the Rinnegan while his soul is bound by Edo Tensei. He already said as much, or Tobi did, while they were riding the jyuubi together.

The real question is will the Edo Tensei hokages be there when he does it... or will somehow everything be thwarted and passed on to Sasuke to complete?

EDIT: Also, who wants to put odds on seeing Hashirama's son or daughter sometime during the flashback? At some point, a child will be born to him and Mito, who will likely be a huge disappointment to all involved, including the readers. After all, Tsunade didn't just appear out of mud one day.

Ughhhh... Flashbacks! Of course. I'm fine with flashbacks but would you please not do it for >2 months...i don't need 10 chapters of how madara and hashirama were friends before everything. I mean it's definitely useful, don't get me wrong, i just think that it doesn't need 2 months to convey that. The only significance of the flashback so far is the "reality" of war stricken countries and izuna coming in as "a tobirama-like uchiha brother".

Regarding madara...he will come out of nowhere with a special jutsu that lets him reverse edo tensei, utilize the rinnegan to use shinra tensei, and get to his prime with a rinnegan and a mangekyo. It'll defienitely happen knowing madara. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a third party outside, watching everything, getting ready for the next arc involving sasuke vs naruto.

Btw why is it that the whole "edo tensei uchiha"(besides madara) is disregarded. Name one uchiha that has been revived from edo tensei? Exactly. None besides madara. Also, why is it that izuna hasn't been revived? If the shinobi alliance used edo tensei to revive izuna, they might be able to use him as a hostage?

How exactly would one use a dead person as a hostage? You also would need to have a sample of that person in order to perform the edo tensei. I'm not sure that would be possible for Izuna, who they never really talk about after he gave his eyes to Madara.

Itachi was revived before.

I'm fine with flashbacks really, but I think Kishi just... puts them in the wrong spot ALL the time. He put the Kakashi Gaiden flashback in the perfect place. It was an interlude between part 1 and 2. You weren't sure what the story was going to be like moving on, so getting a bit of backstory that would set the events of part 2 made sense.

So Kishi has a few options:

  1. Not really an option anymore, but he should have put some more world expanding/building flashbacks in that interlude instead of putting them in the middle of WAR arcs
  2. Split up his story arcs better. Maybe he shouldn't try to have so many things going on at the same time so that he can fit backstory where it belongs. It would have been way better if there were some sort of peaceful arc where Naruto discovers his lost heritage (The Uzumaki shrine) and THEN he would bring it up now. I still don't like the fact that we found out it existed through Sasuke's journey and not Naruto's.
  3. Make the world building less detailed and go more into it later. This is just too much.

Some people already feel like the war is longer than it is. It's only been 3 days, at the very max, since the war started. (Startling, I know) Kishi is disrupting the flow even more by inserting these flashbacks and Sasuke's little mini arc. I don't want to see Sasuke's mini arc right now. How about that happens off screen and we find out about it later through word of mouth instead of actually seeing it or having a detailed flashback?

I honestly think putting the flashback in the middle of a war (not to mention right before the climax?) was a really stupid idea.

Maybe it's because Kishi has nothing else planned after the war is over, so he's trying to fit the flashbacks in. Either way, it's just messy story telling. I liked One Piece's flashback after the Whitebeard War ENDED and there was a timeskip. This Madara flashback is still in the middle of war and not to mention it's a damn long flashback too so far. It's just inconsistent.
