Topic/thread lock-change of standards

-sigh-, I hate spam. But I love a good argument. Sometimes good arguments can get into sub categories of the main subject. But some people don't read the whole thread carefully, they might think it's just random spam.
EX, does not actually exist: On the subject of "what do you think will happen in the next 50 years". It is perfectly legitimate to make a sub argument on who is the super power now and who are the potential ones. These sub arguments make up the main argument. I noticed that sometimes people who don't really read all the thread/comments just assume this is unrelated to the main subject and off-topic and lock it. So I think we should explicitly make exception to the lock thread rule that if a sub category argument is going to contribute to the whole argument, then it is not to be locked. That's just a suggestion though.

uhhh, not particularly, this is actually an inspiration from another forum where sub category arguments are allowed. And I saw how much better the arguments were once the sub arguments were used to support the main argument.
