Apparently two light novels were released for Psyren. The first one called Psyren: Another Call apparently has side stories and some prequel material such as how certain characters met. The second one called Psyren: Another Call 2 is basically Psyren Volume 17 as it closes out the stories of various characters tying up lose ends.

Another Call 1 was released in 2010 to coincide with Manga Volume 13 while Another Call 2 was released in 2011 for Volume 16.

Were they released during the year the manga series ended? Or was it released in this recent year?

I'm just asking this because it just seems a bit random that the author decided to pursue the story in novel format now - especially when the story momentum has been degraded since many of its readers have seen it as a completed series for over 2-3 years.

I just hope this could this re-ignite the story once again in some shape or form. I really liked the story concept. Just wished the author progressed the story in a direction where the government is aware of the circumstances and also take action against such threats. The mistake was revealing that they were sent to the future. It would have been better if it was another world - a different dimension.

I believe this was the cause of why Psyren lost its Japanese fandom.
