Just starting the game now, I'll let you know how it is. I am a huge Final Fantasy fan and I was majorly looking forward to this one. I hope the active battle system and new summon styles will be to my liking.

some points on the game
the leveling system uses a roulette. so you level up at random.
limits are in the form of summons both monster summons (ie ifrit) and character. these also happen at random. monster summons are rarer as you must fist get a character summon then there is a chance it will turn into a monster summon.
all the missions are optional, but give you the best items in the game. they are repeatable. some of the later ones are insanely hard and you will need protection agains the death spell.
there is no party, just Zack that's it. the battle system is realtime and plays alot like Star Ocean : till the end of time
there are a few tricks that can be easily exploited. every map is sectioned off into zones. monsters will attack if you go near the middle of these zones. if you stay along the eges you will not be attacked.

I find the game to be extremely easy on normal mode. I played the import a bit and that was my feeling and it is definitely true. If you are like me and like a good challenge, then give hard mode a shot, because it will rip you up. Ifrit kills in 3 or 4 hits and the soldiers are at least 2wice as strong and fast. A lot better game on hard though, since I feel Final Fantasy games have always had an excellently hard difficulty level.

I'm still going through Patapon and I don't want to pay $40 for either Crisis Core or God of War but as soon as the price drops... I just really didn't want a game with Zack (because I don't give a damn about him) but seeing the FF7 universe in true 3D is enticing.

It really is a good game and if you enjoyed the story in FF7 at all then you will get a kick out of seeing all your favs in Crisis Core. The battle system is also very innovative and different, so it will feel fresh. Personally I think this is the best game on the system, but that is just me. I didn't like Patapon too much, even though I think it was a very innovative idea.
