Actually, there's plenty of sex scenes even in the early volumes of the manga. The anime avoided it but our man, Kintaro, gets a lot of love.

I've seen the anime and the "benkyo benkyo benkyo" phrase is a part of my lexicon for some years now.

This thread really reminded me that reading the manga would be a nice idea. Kintaro was a very interesting character, as I remember. A real man.

In Germany they released the 10 (or 11?) manga volumes after the great anime in 2004.
I like the anime very much. It has all i want to see in a comedy/ecchi anime. It's fun!
But the manga is very different from the anime. The last volumes of Golden Boy are only about sex, sex, sex. Nothing more! No story. Really!!
The anime is much better than the manga.
