Hello! I wanted some suggestions about mangas that follow a MC who is a child as they grow up. Hopefully, it has a romance focus where we see another child they argue with sometimes and play with sometimes, and just shows them growing up and falling in love together.

I know it sounds very broad, but when I stop to think I really can't call to mind many that focus on this (usually they're already high schoolers or something and the other party is introduced as a childhood friend, not showing how they became so attached). Even if the main focus is on something else, like family, that's fine too.

Here are some I've read before that seem similar:

  • My Girl (SAHARA MIZU) [although I want to see more of koharu grow up and her relationship with shuu have a bigger focus]
  • Usagi Drop [even though the guy didn't turn out to be the childhood friend... OTL]
  • Last Game

I find a lot of stories similar to what I'm looking for focus on family one particular period of childhood, like Kodomo no Omocha. Those are also good, although the ideal is to follow an MC grow up together with the childhood friend.

I appreciate any and all suggestions! Thank you.

Shoujo shounen gakkyuudan. For the moment, they are still child, but i think they will grow up step by step.

Suki desu suzuki kun. They are growing up. I think at the begining they have 12-14 years old.

Hourou musuko

Lan chi, i loved it.

I dont know if you will like it, but hana to akuma have the girl who will grow up, but her love the one who is raising her. (He s not a child).

Thank you for your suggestions!! I've actually read a couple of the stories before but forgotten, so it'll be fun to reread, and the new ones sound interesting.

Also, Shoujo shounen gakkyuudan reminds me of Nekota no Koto ga Ki ni Natte Shikatanai (and that's a very very cute shoujo story, I recommend it!)

It's been a while since I've read it but it seems like Oboreru Knife fits the bill. It's a bit more on the serious side though and it doesn't seem to be fully translated.
