[m]I've always wondered this. I like basically all manga ecept for mystery. I read it for the story, the action, and the romance. I mean is idealy the same as hetero but just with guy guy or girl girl. I always when I read anything fiction separate real life from what I'm reading so I can enjoy it. Some people take it too far when they take things out of porportion by saying it wrong or why would someone do that. I mean its a book and it for entertainment purposes only.

I totally second that.

As for bondage thing, I only like the sole fact that dominative character uses it.
I personally like dominative characters because they know what they want, do not hesitate and go for it. That is how I would like to be myself, so for me they are "cool".
But if they use bondage or sth like that it is mostly because they are clumsy, insecure and don't trust themseves to win another person's heart with conventional ways, but are so blinded with their need that go for unconvectional ways. That insecurity is kinda cute.

I love BL incest, especially with brothers or - even better - twins. I would say it's for the uniqueness of the relationship, for the psychological and down-right damaging side of it. Truth be told, however, I don't think I'll ever be satisfied, mostly because there's always something lacking in mangas of the aforementioned kind. I think the best I've read so far was Kyuugou's Sora o Daite Oyasumi and I know I won't be disappointed in the end, but that's the only fair example I have of an excelling twincest Yaoi. All the others I've read may have some very good points rooting for it, but they always come off a little silly or underdeveloped, in one respect or other. I think that for as long as I feel this way I won't be able to let go of (brothers) incest. I have to find the perfect one, fufufu.

I don't particularly care for S&M or bondage. I mean, I don't look for that kind of subject directly when I'm looking for mangas to read. If I happen to stumble upon them, provided the plot catches my attention and all the nine-yards, I have nothing to complain about. I also read mangas evolving around rape, bullying, violence of any kind... I guess I like twisted, unhealthy, possibly suicidal relationships. It triggers the love in me far more easily than all the sweet semes and tsundere ukes of the world.

Of course, like you said, it has nothing to do with real life...

Forbidden love is the sweetest.

I'm a mushy, hopeless romantic so I read incest because it is nice to see someone overcome the forbidden because of love. That's also why I read yaoi. I mean, for some reason, I feel like homosexual love is a lot more sincere than love between opposite sexes because of all the obstacles the homosexual couple has to overcome. (Thought not all yaoi manga address the obstacles) I don't like bondage or s&m though, because, as I am a hopeless romantic, I don't like it when a couple harms one another even if they do it out of pleasure.

because it's forbidden i guess. i mean, i don't even like straight romance story if there is no harem or magic or action. just being same sex is not 'forbidding' enough so the stake need to get higher. the best combo to me is shota-incest-rape-group yaoi.

Personally, the only version of it I can stand is maybe tying the uke or something soft like that, but never any kind of thing that would hurt either of them I'm a fluffy romance kind of fan, I like it when it's gentle & loving ( and cute <3) I can`t enjoy incest, bondage or rape.

For me, S&M falls under a kink. Its a way that you like to have sex. While incest is about a forbidden relationship.

Anyways, I like S&M yaoi when its consensual. Unfortunately, there aren't many yaoi like this. Most of the S&M yaoi are about rape and I'm not into that. I've read incest yaoi before, but it's not something I'm particularly into.

incest, aside from the forbidden love aspect, also has a very large propensity towards proper angst, which i am a HUGE sucker for. none of that melodramatic stuff shoujo manga often wades in, but proper feelings of self-hatred and super insecurity and crazy denials. why do i love this stuff?!

i don't have a thing for s&m really, but i won't avoid a manga that has it. i do kinda like master/servant relationships where the servant is secretly the one in charge or the tables get flipped once in awhile, though.

no rape, though. that's triggering.
