Locking Weekly Chapter Discussion Threads

When I saw what happened in the chapter 308 discussion thread in Bleach's thread, it gave me an idea: We should get all of them locked.
It could be some kind of new rule like when someone makes a new chapter discussion thread for the newest chapter of a manga, one of the mods that usually participates in those threads can lock the previous one to make sure that no one needlessly bumps it.

That's a good idea, but it should only be done for chapters that are over a month old, recent chapters are still up for discussion.
It'd be kinda unfair to those who want to voice their opinion in old discussions though, and to the newer fans.

Only because it annoys some people? I don't really see the point, then again, I don't really participate in those that often anymore.

They could still discuss about all the old chapters in the new threads. Whenever they do, they always compare it to what happened in the latest chapter. Like if a fight lasts for a ton of chapters, and they just found out about something in a previous chapter that would affect the current chapter's outcome (Like when I went back in Bleach and saw how Ulquiorra barely go hurt, and therefore shouldn't have lost against Ichigo), or some kind of hint that was shown several chapters back and where its' importance was just revealed in the current chapter. (Not really a good example, but when Ace gave Luffy that vivre paper back at the Alabasta arc and how it just became important in the Amazon Island arc).
It's not really about it being annoying. But it's about how it's usually some kind of info that was hinted in past chapters that just affected the storyline in the current chapter and how it would be useless to discuss in the chapter discussion thread that it was hinted at instead of the thread where it affected the storyline.

I don't read those, Gantz being an exception.
So I'm not sure what annoys people.
Locking it should be done when a new chapter is released then.
But I don't see the point locking those threads in the first place, since some people like/or would like to comment about those chapters in the future.
It doesn't seem very fair to me.

Well,, seeing how you all think it wouldn't be fair to the other members, then just lock this thread or delete it.

It'd be just as easy to make threads called "Latest Chapter for ____" rather then lock every weekly chapter discussion. I really don't see the point in locking them either, people can still talk about the certain chapters.
