I'd push it too, and actually I have before, turning off all the lights in a basketball gym during the game, the kind which take like 12 minutes to turn back on all the way.

Hmm...well, if it was just there and didn't seem to do anything, I'd take my chances and press it once to see if anything happens. Given that nobody else is around to witness it, however. If I don't see anything trigger or hear any sort of explosion, I just might press it a few more times to see if anything happens after that.
