Ugh. it's one thing to scan something illegally(but still, scanlators make no money) but its another thing to make money off of something illegal.

I used to like mangafox because they put those stupid ads up(which you couldnt help but click since they included it in the page numbers) but this is stupid. They have more than enough money to just host the site but then they got greedy and put those shit ads up.

I didn't even know about mangahere, but i will avoid both sites now.

The manga reading is free. sooo... the revenue for the site comes from advertisements, so the guy didn't actually steal work from the scanlators for money. He merely uploaded the manga onto his website for people to enjoy, besides he takes down manga when scanlators requested it. The reason why big mangas like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece isn't taken down yet is that multiple groups are scanning it, so when one group requested it to be taken down, it merely uses another group's scans.

LOL are you retarded?

Here's what you seem to miss:

1. Guy downloads the manga (for free)

2. Guy uploads it to his site (which he isn't being forced to)

3. Guy gets paid through traffic. (because he wanted money for it)

If it really wasn't about the money, the ads would've stopped a long time ago considering how much he apparently rakes in daily. Welcome to the real world, son. Stop being so naive.

Lol, what i wonder is that why didnt the coalition that hit other sites such as mangatoshokan/onemanga/etc a couple months~a year(s) ago not hit mangahere or mangafox?
THAT's what I've always wondered.... =.=
I think there was some pay-off/agreement to the coalition.....

MangaFox was hit, but they reuploaded the manga they removed later. Basically, MangaFox is not listening.

If you hate mangafox, just contact a lobby group and ask them to conduct a criminal investigation to track funds using Interpol and sue the owners for large compensation.

Also, make sure that you provide a list of mangafox activities over the past year, which have been taken since notices were issued to onemanga and mangatoshokan.

Note that GoDaddy's domain protection is not infallible. If a notice is issued by the copyright holder, Godaddy will release all information to enable the owner to "engage in a conversation with the real operators of mangafox".

Lobby groups are so reliable if you want them to sue people.

So lets get all scanlators in trouble to at the same time? Because what they do is also illegal.

Scanlators are small targets and they don't have much money. The industry lacks an incentive to after groups which cannot pay their legal costs. On the other hand, mangafox is a wealthy target, a renown site - They can get "good" PR/money by busting and jailing its operators.

Scnalation is a gray area(and includes creative works of scanlators) and cannot be targeted easily, but a secondary distribution network like mangafox is strictly illegal.
