I was rellieved but also slightly dissapointed as I entered a Cafe in Helsinki called "Eromanga Cafe" to find that there was nothing hentai or manga related in that place. That would have been a creepy place.

But then I thought of this that happended in sweden with a translator sentenced for child pornography for having 51 hentai images (i guess it was 51 pages since he was following a hentai manga) on his computer [url] http://www.thelocal.se/27984/20100725/ [url]
Yes Finland isn't Sweden but they are very similar in many many way. But should manga or in the end thoughts be equal to a actual crime?

I personally do not care for hentai, shotacon or lolicon.

Edit: tried to fix the url

Sometimes I really think people have lost sight of why child pornography is morally wrong. The reason is simple: children shouldn't be exploited for sexual purposes. This is why child pornography was made illegal and its why it should stay illegal.

However, shota and loli and so on in hentai and whatnot in no way involve real children. Thus, they are victimless, and not inherently immoral. The only arguement against that seems to be "if people look at shota/loli manga, they'll try to do things to children in real life". This is, of course, the same as saying "people who play shooter games will go out and murder people in real life".

In fact, if all the pedophiles are busy looking at drawings of children, then they won't be out actually doing things to real children.

I don't even particularily like shota or loli, but the thought of someone trying to tell me or anyone else that they can't look at a drawing pisses me off to no end. Maybe the legal systems of various countries should put some more effort into protecting children instead of drawings.

We already have a thread about the translator:

As for the topic...seems more like a rant than a discussion so locking this.
