you have a point there man...but i dont really believe this manga is at that kind of level, where the female lead betrays the main man and have sex with a different guy...they even didnt show it..its just that this is still a shounen, maybe if its a seinin that kind of thing could happen...

and i dont think suzuka is that easy, she had a hard time giving up her 1st love giving yamato a chance..it would not be right to give herself to another man, her lover's rival at that...

someone said that you'll be an idiot not to notice a virgin, well realistically its not that easy...hymen tend to vanish for active women, and as a serious athlete, suzuka might not have hers already despite the fact that she havent done it with anyone...or on the contrary, even if she might have done it with arima once, she might still bleed when she'd done it with yamato..she'll be practically a virgin still...

so your theory might be a possibility...there's this mysterious relationship between arima and suzuka, quite puzzling that arima was just asking about yamato as what suzuka said, and arima is appearing more regualrly in the story so a romantic rivalry is edging in the picture...

The startling revelation of Suzuka's condition. We're pretty sure of whose the

father of the child she's carrying

So let's create a conflict situation.

Continuing on from the tryst Arima and Suzuka had in the US. Suzuka becomes Yamato's girlfriend (because she still loves him). She does, however, keeps it a secret from Yamato that she had sex with Arima. They both continue their romance. They finally have sex (during this time, she is already pregnant with Arima's child). So goes on the deception. The story continues to ch155. She confesses that she's pregnant but doesn't tell Yamato who the real father is. Suzuka feels guilty for not being able to tell Yamato her secret. (ch156) Yamato is feeling guilty for having sex with her for various reasons. Continuing with the events in ch156.

So here's the question. What should Yamato do when he finds out that he's not the

father?

a. Break up with Suzuka and make Arima take responsibility
b. Continue the relationship but not take responsibility for the baby (It not his anyway)
c. Continue the relationship and accept everything
d. Get reven by getting drunk and have accidental sex with Miki (she's fairly into Yamato anyway) then break up with Suzuka (the reason being ergo sex with her bestfriend)

I like D. It has a certain charm to it (for all the Suzuka haters out there).

and I highly doubt she did anything with Arima. it just doesn't seem to be in her character. 😔

lol interesting options, I would say it would have to be more towards A but Arima wont want to do so, so they have some sort of challenge wager or whatever, the winner of the next championship race or whatever gets Suzuka. That way the sports part kicks in again with relationship backing like it always has been except for a few parts.

why does everybody have to include this Arima guy? Arima this and Arima that, i mean, he's only a minor character. i really dont think that guy is important in the story, maybe, just a rival of sort. suzuka is 3 months pregnant? c'mon, 3 months? and she looks pretty slim to me. there's only 2 possibilities to why she said she is 3 months pregnant. 1) she's just testing again yamato's love for her 2) she really is pregnant with yamato's genes (not Arima, why Arima?). if its (1), she'll probably get an answer from yamato when they meet in the festival, yamato saying i'll be with you till the end no matter what with decide or what happens which will make suzuka really happy. and if its (2), its gonna be a long, hard journey for this two but im pretty sure they'll manage. yamato may even become more of athlete than he has ever become that can inspire people and win many competitions, while suzuka supporting him all the way.

Suzuka will never really support Yamato becuae she is a crazy girl with some weird issues. You can trace this fact all the way through the story to the beginning.

I think everyone brings up Arima, because:

1. He was seen suspiciously talking to Suzuka at the shoe lockers and immediately left when Yamato showed up.
2. He went to America with Suzuka for a year
3. Other characters (the old captains) keep bringing him into the story for no good reason.
4. They were walking down the street together at the end of the last chapter.

Those are all valid reasons to consider him as a fairly important character, especially when the street scene was the last "cliffhanger".

Also Suzuka is not a real person, she is a drawing. We won't be able to see her getting plump with widdle babay until the Manga-ka decides to draw her getting plump.

i suspect that arima will be a love rival if not already...its all speculation about arima having a go with suzuka even before yamato and him being the "father" of the "pregnant" suzuka(note the"")..despite all this speculations, i believe arima likes suzuka and maybe he wants to fight yamato "fairly" for suzuka..and that's why he's encouraging him to be a better athlete...who ever wins at sports, wins suzuka...something like that...

i'm still hoping that yamato is her first and if she's preggy, its yamato's definitely...

on the other hand, i'm having this weird vibes against suzuka. ever since she got back from the states and got back with w/ yamato, she never looked like a happy and in-love person(she might be that way since the start of the story though). she kind of look guilty and suffering..yup, she really might be hiding something, even before this pregnancy thing came up...or maybe she's just a mentally unstable person, wacko huh?

Yeah, there have been moments in the show where the two were seen talking and he was in America with her, but why bring in Arima if the timeline makes perfect sense.

It is true that a person's character could change, but the mangaka did that, he/she would lose a significant amount of fan support. If Suzuka is pregnent with someone else's child, then that is just stupid.

Personally, Arima in introduced as a outside sempai who would give advice (helpful or not) to Yamato. Yamato's character is one that relies a bit on other's advice and you could see that from the event that brought on this problem.

I just would like to see that the author doesn't destroy the credibility of the characters he/she built for so many chapters.

...but y'know if he did write it like that, he has to come up with some clear psychological disturbance that made Suzuka do that... it's like, the reason why Suzuka wouldn't get together with Yamato in the first place -- she was such a bitch, but by the end, I understood her. I could forgive her for treating Yamato like crap. Haha...

As much as we all like drama...

The baby is Yamato's. 99.9% certain.

To move Suzuka into such a storyline (as having Arima be the father) would destroy the tone the manga has had over the past, what, 16 volumes. Yes, Suzuka has had its serious drama parts, but to go into such territory would break from how the manga has been thus far (and, of course, it'd lose quite a few fans).

Arima's going to end up being a rival-turned-friend character, mainly to support Yamato because if Yamato left track, Arima wouldn't have competition anymore.

What's probably going to happen is Yamato's going to spill what happened to Arima, Arima's going to have a shocked face, and then he's going to calm down and direct Yamato to talk to Suzuka to see how she feels.

Arima might do that, as person is leaving, give your true thoughts, and tell Yamato to convince Suzuka to take the abortion in order to not jeopardize both of their Track-and-Field careers.

Suzuka's obviously going to want to keep it, by the way.

as i say i like that yamato is now using his head and not a clumsy and irresponsible dis tym and but only one think i didnt like in 156 is wen he says that abortion is the the way to solve the problem but it will happen to me i will accept the born baby and i will try not to be irresponsible father to that baby...

i wish that yamato can really knw what she do to suzuka...

i think that u have misread the chapter cause it was suzuka who started talking about the abortion, yamato doesnt want to do it cause he is afraid that it will hurt suzuka's body.

I agree with flame, I think that 2 consecutive months without a period would send any normal girl running as fast as she can to the nearest pharmacy for a pregnancy test (especially since Suzuka isn't a virgin anymore). I mean there was no reason for her to be on the pill (again...since she was a virgin) & if she was she shouldn't be pregnant.

Most likely the doctor was a complete idiot (or he got the test results mixed up). Cuz i don't think Suzuka would lie about a pregnancy (since she was willing to run away from home to be by Yamato's side ).

And if indeed she is pregnant that just makes her an idiot who has no clue about a woman's body (but she dosn't seem like the type not to notice that she isn't bleeding from between the legs like she was suppose to).
