at least i prefered light not to die like a pussy at the end, i mean i thought he had abit of dignity at the very least, but in the end he only acted like a badass cause he was just sure of himself and got cocky

Honestly, I was rooting for Light. I wanted him to succeed, because he was my favorite character. Personally, I would have been happy if Death Note ended after L died. Lol, I love villains.
I was rooting for light too
One of the alternate endings i read was great, better imo than the real one, aside from the start where light dies from boredom or something, cant remember.
Alt. ending spoiler:
It's the one where Light has to re-live every death he caused using the deathnote from their position before he disappears, so uses the time to go after the shinigami king.

I picked other.
Would have liked L to live or rather died but found a loophole in the end and thus doesn't stay dead. Light and L were equal in terms of intelligence, but because of the other reaper's intervention, he got killed off. That and "light at least dying with dignity rather than acting like a 1st class pussy" combined, so other.

i picked the gun one
some on man, seriously, that guy had to be stupid or something, in all seriousness tho, his intell did seem to go down from when L died, he was not nearly as smart as he was before when he faces near, or maybe the case is more that he got too confident and it blinded him

If I was in Light's position, I would have told Teru to keep a few pages hidden inside his home, and when the time came, to write their names on those sheets of paper. Why couldn't Light think of that? It's very simple. He really did become lazy after L died.

Light wastes everyone with an uzi. End of story.
Glados is a bitch. She made me kill the companion cube, the only friend I'll ever have. 😢

I liked everything about Death Note until Light acted like a 1st rate pussy at the very end. I always thought that he was a 'man' with a sense of pride, but this pussy just had to beg for mercy from Ryuk. It's a good thing that Ryuk killed him, but I would like it more if Ryuk wrote, "He jumped off from Tokyo Tower to put an end to his shameful defeat.

I loved the ending. It was poetic justice at its best. It was earned and realistic too- Light maintained the psychological profile of a sociopath most of the series (seriously, look it up if you don't believe me), including his mental breakdown towards the end.
Case in point, I don't want a sociopath judging whether people are able to live and die as he sees fit. I think it should have ended much earlier with L's victory instead, rather than even bothering to introduce Near. But since it happened, the current ending was well done.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...
I mean, Light definitely had to lose someway or the other, but I think that Light's demise was too simple. His plan was flawless, but his follower cost him his victory. If it had been by some fault of his own, then I believe the ending would've been perfect. I guess my disappointment in his demise is what stopped me from enjoying the ending.
I at least wanted Near to die, therefore there would be two losers and no victors. O well.

But isn't it Light's mistake then that he put so much trust in his follower?
