Please be gentle...

I'm sure it's just a coincidence as most mangaka use pen names. They just choose whatever they think sounds good.
Four Things You Didn't Know About Me:
- I've sung Barbershop.
- I think ice cream and coffee are the best food inventions ever.
- I write fanfiction.
- I'm paranoid of moths.

I do not think that it is anyone's surname for it is so short
and does not sound old enough. >_>
Just because someone has the same last name, doesn't mean they're related.
Also, please know that alot of manga-ka use pseudonym's (or pen names), and they may not be using their real names.

I don't think it's a common surname but a shortened surname. I don't think it really means they're related or anything

tite kubo's real name is Noriaki Kubo.
"tite kubo" was his chosen pen name as in "tight kubo"
kubo is a real japanese last name nothing special about that.
