Quick question: Have you ever listened to real metal?

I mean, my dislike for their sound and gimmicks aside, I have nothing against slipknot personally, but if you want some good, heavy music, I can make some recs.

Examples of the other stuff you listened to?

To be honest, I don't know why anyone would like nu metal over say, thrash, stoner, doom, or some progressive stuff, like Gojira, or even some metalcore stuff, like early CoC.

as far as im concerned slipknot is dead to me! they went down hill after iowa this is my opinion of them

They were one of the first "hard rock" bands i listened to.

Hate their fans... They have some decent songs though.

I don't like anything about slipknot from their fans to them.

Their fans are all posers and their music sounds like a drunk Hobo having sex with a drum, Their fans are so stupid........ There is a kid in my class that loves everything about them, Then when I say Death, Opeth or even Dimmu Borgir he is drawing blanks.
