Heavy Rain is a fairly new game with intense story line and a genre of mystery, suspense, and thriller. Honestly, I thought it was going to be another softy....but holy crap, it get more and more intense as it goes on. The story goes that there's a serial killer called the Origami Killer that kidnaps boy between age 8-12 in broad daylight, keeps them alive for 3-5day, then drowns them in rainwater. Every time it rains 6 inches, some kids dies. You meet and take control of different main characters and slowly piece together the mystery. To me, it's a very good game with really really nice graphics and a lot of interactions. check it out if you have time.

Here's a section of the game on youtube, some guy's walk through. Warning, it's going to be bloody and pretty intense. Kind of reminds of of the movie series of SAW 😲

Yea i got it the day i came out and i finished it about 8 or 9 hours later, at about 7am. It has to be one of my favorite games of all time. it does have its faults, clunky controls and some bad voice acting, but all of that can not take away all of the great things about this game. the story is so intense and grips you the entire time that you cant stop, because you want to see what will happen next. This changed how story can be told with video games and i hope that many more games like this are made in the future. If you have a PS3 you need to play this game!

Yeah, when I got to that part it was kinda hard to look at. Not cause of the blood, but cause of the way he was screaming.

I second all of what Rabin typed. It's a good game, but sometimes when there's a QTE the button is hard to see because it can appear anywhere on the screen and it's hard to see when you're fighting in a room with light colors. Plus, the voice acting and the character's movements don't match at times (Like a character's body could look and act angry but the VA sounds bored, or the character's body could look and act calm, but the VA is screaming and cursing like crazy). Plus, I have no idea why the developers decided that holding R2 to walk was a good idea...

Other than those problems, it's an excellent game. The storytelling is top-notch, and if you screw up during a QTE and do something that you didn't want to, the game lets you choose from the chapters of the game that you've already completed so that you can go back and correct your mistake.

Overall, I'd give this a 9/10.

Great game. The story does a great job of sucking you in. Whenever something sad happened to the characters, I would feel sad. When something shocking happened, I was left in disbelief. When the characters were in high pressure situations, my adrenaline was be racing. That's not only the story, though. The QTE made you feel like you were actually part of the events unfolding. And knowing that a wrong move could spell the end for your character (no do overs, unless you go back and replay the chapter, but where's the fun in that?) gave the game that added tension.

The game had its flaws, but that's to be expected when a game is this far from the norm. I also played Quantic Dream's previous game, Indigo Prophecy. Even though Indigo Prophecy was a good game, the progress between the two is huge. Although I don't want to see a whole slew of similar games come out, I can't wait to see what Quantic Dream comes out with next.

Just came out of Ethan's road rampage mission. God, that was tense!!
Loving the game so far. Got the awesome Collector's Edition too, complete with an atmospheric dynamic theme and the orchestral soundtrack. Haven't played the add-on chapter yet.

Having played Fahrenheit, its interesting to see how David Cage has transferred some of his ideas from it into Heavy Rain and improved upon them. Personally, I feel Heavy Rain is just a more polished version of Fahrenheit, but a new experience nonetheless.

Scott Shelby is one of my all-time favourite video game characters now.

Haha yeah when he went in and started shootin up the mob i was like "HOLY SH!T!" I liked him and then he did that. My first play through I didnt play as Madison to much. Was a little disappointed. I thought the characters were gonna get a fair share of play each, but i guess maybe your decisions affect that to. Ah well, go through it again and see what happens.
