I think it was a manga.

The protagonist is a guy who likes to travel despite his many responsibilities as a royal. The first volume is about him finding an unmapped village closed off from the rest of the world because of a deadly disease. He then tries to help the village while also being the wingman for a couple from that village. (It was the son of the chief and his attendant? Or something with similar dynamics.) It's revealed at the end that he's actually royalty and that he has a guy waiting for him back at his home.

If I remember correctly, the following volume contains the same pattern of him traveling and helping a couple while also making his own not-yet-partner(?) wait for him as he goes off who-knows-where.

I don't remember much else aside from those details unfortunately.
