Deus Ex best rpg/shooter ever (if you don't mind the graphics...)

Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl is another RPG shooter. It's good, and the plot is interesting, but the atmosphere is a little dreary (It's taking place in a former communist country, though, so if you were expecting pretty colors you'd be a little crazy).

Edit: Oh, and Bioshock is heavily suggested.
