Only around people my own age. Where I grew up, cursing is like a regular thing. It'd be odd if you never cursed. I try to tone down on it but it still comes out alot.

I use "fin" and "god damn" alot as adjectives alot and "s" has completely replaced all generic nouns for naming something thats already been mentioned. For example, if I saw a good Bleach episode I might tell a friend, "man, I was watching that fin Bleach last night. That s was like the best episode yet." The word n**** has crept into my vocabulary but I'm pretty good at keeping it unused unless i'm really hyped or angry about something. For example, Orochimaru is like my favorite character on Naruto so when he fought the kyuubi I told a friend of mine, "Man, that n**** Orochimaru was beasting out on that episode. That n**** showed why he is not to be f***** with. But Naruto did some pretty cool s*** too."

And thats like regular talk. No matter what the subject I find that I can litter it with profanity if i'm not actively trying to avoid using profanity.

Quote from Sagaris

yes, not often though
cursing only proves that you are not intelligent enough to insult someone using normal words

I disagree. I know alot of intelligent people who curse on the regular. Its not because they have a small vocabulary. Its because they grew up around that environment so its more natural for them. If you're an outsider, yeah, they can insult you without cursing and make a fool of you. But if you're in their friend group or they feel that you're in "insider" and familiar with that type of upbringing, they feel at ease so they slip back into whats natural for them to do.

My uses for cursing:

Insulting someone
Anger
Humor
To offend someone
Just for the hell of it

I swear quite often but It really depends on the type of mood and environment you're in.

You know, you could just use a period instead of writing period. It would save some time.

A lot of time, period.

It just goes to show he has the extra second to spell it out. Unfortunately people still call fanfiction fanfics though.

I chose 'Other' because I do both the options.

On the internet, I do so sometimes, but yeah..

In R/L I've NEVER EVER cussed. EVER.

You Lie!! That is impossible! You mean to tell me you never even accidentally hit something, felt pain and said "F**K!"

Its true. I might say it in my head, but I've never sweared out loud, no matter how much I've wanted to. Also, I normally stick to more mild words, like damn and shit, although its impossible to keep from thinking more wild ones once you know them at least a few times.

Actually, I only say about 20% of the stuff I'm actually thinking out loud, so thats hardly surprising.

In mind, I swear quite a lot by accident, but in real life and vocally, I abstain from cursing.

I find those who are offended by cursing to be pretentious. It is part of my natural speech as well as my vernacular, so it is natural for me to swear profusely

Sometimes. Though I totally had a catalyst in grade nine, long story though. I didn't even use words like "stupid" or "sucks" until I was ten and switched schools - les enfants d'immersion weren't exactly tolerant of bad language at the time, which suited me well. So I was kind of shocked when, in fifth grade and at my second school, I found kids my own age - and younger than me too - who used words I'd only ever heard of, not heard it use. My parents were very good about not swearing in front of me.

Anyway, long story short, it's more of a nasty habit that I've fallen into in recent years. Don't get me wrong, I'm not condemning anyone who does swear and is proud of it or anything. I just prefer not to because I still generally feel guilty afterwards, which ruins the buzz of making a good point.

Exactly, in my town its a part of a normal conversation, example "Hey, Mofa, where are you going?", "To the fg store to buy some bread, wanna go with me?" "Sw you, why the FK would I want to go with you to buy bread!?", like that, a perfectly normal conversation
